Is the quality of the faucet sold at Home depot the same as a plumbing supply store.

At the plumbing supply store the clerk said that the models sold in home depot are made cheaply and that's why they can sell them for less. Is this true.
Asked by: rose
From my experience, the quality of the faucet is the same. When comparing, always note the model number of the product. This will clue you in if you are in fact comparing the same items.

Temperature control

In a review of a competitor's model, the reviewer commented that the faucet he bought had a function that restricted it from dispensing all hot water. He stated that he thought he got about 80% hot and 20% cold when he had it on full hot. I guess that's some kind of anti-scald feature. Does this Kohler faucet do that? We do not set our water heater at a really high temperature so when we put the faucet on full hot we want only hot.
Asked by: Ellen
It is controlled by pushing the handle forward or back. Can't speak to the other commenters point about anti scalding.

spray feature

When using spray button, must you hold button down or can you let go and spray stays? Are there 2 different spray features?
Asked by: suzanne
You do not need to hold the button as it will remain on either spray or full stream. The choices available are either full stream or spray. The spray is certainly not wimpy.....it gets done what needs to be done, only been using the faucet for 3 months and we both like it.

leaking at the hose and sprayhead join (ball & socket?)

I purchased this faucet not too long ago and it began leaking at the joint between the pull-down hose and the sprayhead. When the sprayhead is clicked in at the spout, the leak accumulates and starts to leak out at the body of the faucet where the spout meets the body. It appears that there is nothing to tighten at the hose end to stop the leak. How do I repair this?

We want two soap dispensers. How can I order a second one and what would it cost?

Asked by: lisue
I would advise you to purchase the faucet by itself (without the dispenser) and then purchase 2 dispensers separately to ensure a good match. I found this model number for the soap dispensers: K-1895-C-VS

Cruette Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet in Vibrant Stainless is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great faucet! We have this faucet in our current home and liked its performance so well we bought another for our summer home being built. This faucet out performs any of the top brands I have used before.

It looks great and performs very well. The pull-down sprayer works great and will splash if the water is turned on full force (which is not necessary for a forceful spray). We did have to put the handle to the front due to a lack of space but I actually prefer that. I keep the spray and stream buttons in the front too for convenience. We were lucky enough to find a Glacier Bay RO water faucet that is a close match. So far, so good for both of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifetime warranty - no brainer My five year old kitchen faucet was leaking behind and under the sink, so I went shopping. A replacement from the same company as the one I had cost half what the Kohler cost. But the warranty was only 1 year. Because the old one failed outside the warranty, I was stuck. So I figured with a lifetime warranty, how could I go wrong? Installation was easy, and once installed, the quality of the product really shines. The control is extremely smooth. With the removable sprayer head and the controls on it, it makes doing work at the sink so much easier. It's worth twice the money as the other guys, because it's a better faucet, and it has a lifetime warranty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from CAUTION: Known leaky faucet problem. AVOID AVOID AVOID! After a year of good use, I replaced one. Fought hard to get a replacement from them and after uninstalling and reinstalling it is happening again!!! I read up online and found many defective handles after a satisfactory installation and initial happiness with the product. I NEVER write these reviews, VERY positive, but everyone must know this! Avoid this product, it does not last!!!!

Second faucet had a defective o-ring where the spray hose connects to water line. Had to return the faucet to Home Depot. Cost $80 for a plumber to tell me that little factoid. Third faucet was just installed. If this one doesn't last then I will be turning to a different manufacturer. My $180 faucet has now cost over $400.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely satisfied with this product. I purchased Kohler "Cruette" Model # K-R780-VS in July, 2014 and it is perfect for my needs. Kohler and American Standard seem to be the only 2 companies that have a “Sleeve” attached to the faucet whereby the “sleeve” is going thru the counter top and the tubing / water lines run thru the sleeve instead of directly thru the counter with some flimsy clip to hold it in place. ( The prior “Delta” faucet I had gave me all kinds of trouble because the faucet “pull-out” hose was always getting jammed in the tubing going thru my granite counter top. The other prerequisite I had, was “adjustable flow rate”. Without this feature, the water would certainly be splashing all over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, works great We originally planned on buying a faucet of a competitor, but the soap dispenser on the competitor felt plastic and low quality. The Koehler’s soap dispenser is very nice. Another consideration was how the pull down nozzle feature worked and retracted. There is a donut shaped weight on the hose – below the faucet, under the cabinet. I like this simple solution for pulling the nozzle back into place. Others use a magnet which is great as well, but we like the look of the Koehler better. No issues. We did NOT use the trim plate on the counter. The faucet goes directly though the granite counter top hole, for a clean look.
