Thank you for your inquiry. It depends on the type of spout you have: Slip-fit or NPT (threaded). This may help...
- A slip fit spout has an internal assembly that slips over a copper pipe. This spout has an opening on the bottom side where a setscrew is tightened to hold the spout onto the copper pipe. If you see a setscrew, you loosen it to "slip" the spout off of the copper water pipe.

- NPT refers to a standard thread size in the plumbing industry. This spout threads onto a copper pipe. This spout also has an opening on the bottom side, but there is no set screw, the copper pipe would be visible inside the opening. If you do not see the set screw, the spout has to be unscrewed from the threaded copper pipe.
This K-373-CP is an NPT (threaded) spout, so it requires a threaded copper pipe. We hope this is helpful. Thanks again.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kitchen range and over the range vent..Plus a Kohler bath tub spout I had no problem removing the old spout, with Teflon tape and few turn of the spout and we have a shiny new bath tub spout. September 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect finish, style, and quality In updating bath fixtures, we chose and purchased two of these spouts (upgrading two bathrooms). This spout is solid and hefty. The brushed nickel finish matches the other fixture components perfectly and the style blends well, also. Using a strap wrench as directed, installation was easy. As for performance- it does what it's supposed to do. Very pleased with purchase. August 26, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for a remodel We recently remodeled our master bath and there weren't a lot of bath hardware lines that had a non-diverted tub spout but the Devonshire line fit the bill! We are very pleased with the look of this product and were able to coordinate it with the matching trim. September 1, 2012
