Rated 5 out of 5Â by Avidco The rubber goes under the sink
To all of you who are complaining about the rubber o ring leaking....you don't use it on top of the sink. You use plumbers putty under the flange on top and then put the rubber ring underneath. Call a plumber next time.

Sorry, the rubber "O" ring in question goes on the stopper. And it is just a little too large for the stopper.
Yes, even my plumber tells me its too large for the stopper.

The rubber "o" ring that seals the stopper comes off. I've replaced it twice. Kohler wants $1.20 plus $7.95 shipping for the "o" ring. If they were a truly quality company, they'd replace it free and change their design so that this doesn't happen. Very disappointed with Kohler and Home Depot!

This expensive drain uses a thin rubber o-ring to seal the drain. That seal does not seat correctly and the water leaks from the sink very quickly. The cheap seal lasted less than 6 months! Don't waste your money! Buy a $10 drain that works. The manufacturer should offer a free replacement for this terrible design - especially given the premium price for a defective product.

Had to replace (for the 3rd time) our biscuit insinkerator flange, so we decided to go with brushed metal instead of paint. Bought the brushed nickel strainer because it was the closest in color to the brushed stainless insinkerator flange. My husband installed it in minutes. Our last strainer leaked unless it was in perfect position and was made of plastic. This one is heavy duty metal and it drops into place. It has been great so far.
