What is the weight limit for the towel bars?

It seems likely that eventually someone will use the towel bar for physical support while leaning in the shower. Will the glass or towel bar break in this case? There doesn't seem to be anything addressing this in the documentation for the shower doors.
Asked by: Jim
The stainless 1/4-20 sized screws are bumpered on both sides with a tough silicone gasket and the screw has a large diameter head. They tighten up solid using a 1/8 inch allen wrench. I see no reasonable limit such as wet towels, but I would not hang on them. However, if you used them for supporting yourself while climbing into the shower, I would be confident they would be fine.

How wide is the unit from handle and the two sliding panels. I can't see the width anywhere. My husband thinks it will take up the interior space...

depth of each handle and the door tracks/
Asked by: Anonymous
The handle extends 2" into the shower proper beyond the inside edge of the side molding. This is, of course, on only one of the 2 sliding doors. In my case the bottom marble threshold/curb extends 2" inside the track so it is a non issue. Although the door would typically be mounted in the front to back center of the threshold, it could be mounted further into the room slightly if you need more elbow room in the interior of the shower. Personally, I would give up an inch or so of interior room to give the door a more balanced look.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy Don't buy. It is not a good craftsmanship. Sliding won't work fluidly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installation was not that bad They actually took some time to give us the customer detailed installation instructions which I would rate 5 stars. I was not in a mood to install the shower door but knew it needed to be done and the ease of installation changed my mood and it ended up being more of a fun project than a dreaded project. I love the finished project and am super happy with this purchase. Has very cushioned bumpers for the glass door which is very much appreciated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely the best shower door for the money This product is delivered in one compact, heavy box that was well padded. The instructions are clear and accurate. The handles on shower doors ALWAYS get loose and just look ugly after a wile, but not this one as it goes THROUGH the glass with NO chance of getting loose. The nickel plating is a different soft look that is very pleasing. Kohler designed and executed a wonderful looking product that is absolutely great when it is installed. Just be careful and precise when measuring and cutting. Caulk well (I like the look of white silicone along the edges, then use clear to seal between the parts). I did not caulk the top frame to the wall as it doesn't need to be waterproof at that spot and it looks cleaner (as long as you did a good cut). I installed this in my vacation condo in Florida 1 year ago and it still looks great. In short it was easy to install, easy to customize to whatever size you would need and it looks FABULOUS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value! I purchase this bypass sliding doors with reservation. I had my heart set on a frameless door but could not see spending over two grand for it. I read the reviews and decided to purchase this Kohler glass door. I am so happy with it. My contractor had no problem installing it and they look fabulous. The glass is great always looks clean. I would highly recommend them. Great value, $325 plus free shipping! You can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy install with smooth beautiful results The instructions were clear and very easy to read. Even comes in Spanish. The pieces fit beautifully together and cut easily with a carbide blade on my circular saw. Thought the side panel screws could be longer and the rubber bumpers pulled through when installed, but are robust. Brass washers solved this.. It does feature a great roller system that has a bottom U channel that fits over the base track and eliminates water getting out. The coated surface is great as water just beads off. Great handle system works as a towel rack. Highly recommended as it has many features at a reasonable price. I will be installing more of these on my renovations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Look, Fair Price I've had these shower doors installed for about a month now and they're a great addition to my basement bathroom. The installation wasn't bad or too time consuming...about 3 hours or so (drilling thru the tile was probably the worst part). The clear glass really opened the bathroom quite nicely to show off the tile. I am pleased with the doors so far. Just be sure to read through the instructions to avoid cutting one of the tracks too short. The only suggestion i would have is to caulk where the U channel (runs along the base of the bottom track on the shower side) meets the wall track. I had a little water leaking outside the shower even though all the necessary joints were caulked according to the instructions. Threw some silicone in there and plugged it right up. The coating on the inside of the glass is also a plus, just needs a quick squeegie...just wish it was on both panes of glass. Beyond that, the doors work perfectly, no problems, looks great. Definitely had the look I was going for without the cost.
