Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mike Kohler design is terrible
Seal expands and tips break off after being installed; must be replaced every 5 years; I get annoyed every time i have to replace it. The Home Depot part works just as good at Kohler and other parts available, I just wish it wasn't designed for failure.

I tried using "universal" parts, but they did not properly fit and the toilet ran constantly ran.

Having a Kohler one piece system is great, but replacing the value I thought would be difficult. So glad you carry and deliver Home Depot! Found a good recommendation on line regarding the installation.
This part twists for installation and removal. A tennis ball makes great leverage to do perform this task and works great as no instructions come with the kit.

A bear to install. Here's a hint that worked for me. Coat both sides of gasket with olive oil. Next, find a lacross ball. Place the ball into flapper hole, and PUSH DOWN HARD on the ball and twist in place. Whew! It is installed!!

Super Simple - but no instructions, so read this. My 12 year old one piece Santa Rosa Kohler toilet flush valve was disintegrating. The flapper rubber deteriorated and eventually broke off, and before that, the tank gasket rubber "bloomed" leaving little bits of rubber in the tank - and it was leaking water into the bowl, triggering more water. I thought it would be a pain to remove the old one and put in the new one - not true. I followed the advice of another review to push down and then twist. (I assume a person knows to turn off the water (in my case, I had to when the flapper broke) and drain the tank by flushing it or using a sponge to get the water out...) I used a softball (the other review had a lacrosse ball) to push down hard around the gasket housing with one hand and then used the other hand to grab the base and rotate/twist the housing by 1/3 a rotation. This was really helpful as my toilet tank is under a counter top and getting directly above the tank for leverage was not possible. When installing the new one I did the same, but I did use a just a little olive oil to lubricate the side of the gasket that is against the tank bottom to get it to move when pushing down and twisting. All in all, it took a half hour, only because I took the time to clean the inside of the tank (little bits of rubber all over) and other toilet parts in the tank - otherwise - 15 minutes.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by GrandmaM Kohler Flapper Unit
Had to purchase complete unit to get the flapper part needed. Ordinary 'universal' parts sold lin Home Depot and other stores did not fit this Kohler model. Had to separate flapper from other parts before installation. Was a special order item, not stocked in stores so the delay in receiving was lengthy. Once received, installation was simple and now I have the remaining spare parts for another time.

Perfect replacement - just press down hard and rotate to remove and install. (Attach hole is triangular)
