Wisconsin native trying to be proud of the company. As many others have written I spent a bit of extra money to get the Kohler reputation for quality. It functioned well for about a year and then started to deteriorate. With the exceptionally high calcium content of our water the switch to go from steam to spray became very difficult to fully engage either way. You'd be left with a weak spray centered by a trickle of stream, or a fair stream with a ring of weak spray. Then at about 3 years it became increasingly hard to swivel the faucet to either side. At the end it was locked to the left. I was applying as much pressure as I dared with absolutely no results. When I pulled the entire faucet out I found a fairly cheap plastic collar separating the body of the faucet form the escutcheon plate (see pic). It had become encrusted with sediment and could not be removed.
To their credit Kohler customer service, with very few questions, sent me free of charge an entirely new faucet citing a "manufacturing defect" as the mode of failure. Though I appreciate it I have little doubt this will be happening again in a relatively short time and am not looking forward to replacing the faucet every few years.
As a nitpick, the rubber seal between the escutcheon plate and sink does not work well. By itself it would do little to seal itself, and even with the addition of plumbers putty there was still plenty of gunk built up under it.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by nothandy Defective after 1 year. Save your receipt!
After approximately 1 year of service, the faucet now mixes warm water when set to cold. At a cost of over $200, this seems unacceptable. Unfortunately, we no longer have the receipt or I believe Kohler would replace or fix.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by mtnbiker2 Love the faucet
Only thing preventing a 5 star rating is there are a few plastic parts and the hose/spout doesn't fit in the neck as securely as I would like. But, for the price, an excellent option. We are very pleased. The handle is smooth and responsive. The spout is high off the sink allowing large buckets, pots, etc. to be filled underneath. It is also a very long neck, with was a required feature with our sink. After 1 month, we are very pleased! Also, it was much easier to install then the Delta it replace.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Thomas very slow water flow
from the moment this faucet was installed I called Kohler about the slow water flow. They sent me a new spray head and I checked all valves. The flow never improved and continued to get slower. After 6 mos.I couldn't live with this slow flow and replaced it with a fine working faucet and I am really pleased. I will NEVER buy another Kohler faucet.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by Louie Water taste like chemical
Had this faucet installed by a plumber 3 months ago. I purchased a Koler because of the good reputation. The water has had a strong chemical taste sinceit was installed. I thought it would go away but I still have to run the water for a bit to clear the chemical taste. I'm seriously thinking of replacing the faucet.
