Hello, my name is Jay with KOHLER Customer Service. I am happy to assist you with your toilet seat question.
The 4713-0 is not recommended for the 3493-0. The seat that does pair well with this toilet is the 4650-0. Please work with your local Home Depot for pricing and availability on this product.

Answer:
I bought both French Curve and cachet. The cachet is pretty thin. The French curve is much thicker and sturdier. It is worth the extra money.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 15 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Difficult Return Options The back slip off/quiet close bar was defective and a disaster - kept slipping off the attachments. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice toilet seat This is a nice, sturdy toilet seat. I had originally gone with the cheaper cachet model. It was pretty thin. This is thicker and more comfortable. Worth the extra money! August 30, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Doesn't Live Up To Expectations I was told the advantage of this toilet seat was the ease with which I could remove the seat from the toilet thereby better cleaning of both the seat and the toilet in an area it is difficult to keep clean. My guess is that I did not install it properly. The "instructions" were useless line drawings. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed Seat was perfect. The only problem, but the toilet holes are not easily dealt with (screws fit into special nuts not accessible from below), and I had to order a new accessory kit September 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by You'll be happy Installed over 2 weeks ago. Because I was installing it alone I used the plastic flange imbedded in the wax ring to help guide the toilet to the drain. The replaced toilet was 3.5 gallons, which because of encrustments mainly circled and required a plunge every other dump. Naturally I was concerned that 1.28 gallons might not be enough. However, it rushes down. Also because I am from California and trying to satisfy conservation requirements “yellow is mellow”. The former toilet required a hard scrubbing once a week, as in bacterial plaque on never brushed teeth, due to the horrid brown biofilm buildup. This toilet has been scrubbed once and there was no biofilm. I don’t consider the flush noisy and in any case the refill is quite swift. July 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kohler toilet seat My toilets are Kohler so It fits perfect and is easy to remove for cleaning. It's quiet to close and nice not to have it slam especially in the middle of the night. July 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by its a toilet seat Its a toilet seat! It works well, when it lowers it does not bang. March 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product The installation was a breeze, as long as you take off the white cover to the screw and the black insert BEFORE you install the seat. Make sure the plus sign on the black piece is facing you, place it over the bolt holes on the toilet, and then screw in the bolt. Afterwards, snap on the toilet seat to the black plastic piece, then snap on the white bolt cover, and the installation is finished. I had no problems with movement with the toilet seat after it was installed. The rubber bumpers keep the seat firmly in place (as long as the white covers are installed, because they are what keeps the seat from snapping off the hinge). The quiet-close action works like a dream and my husband loves the shape of the toilet. One more unexpected benefit: a plastic seat is not as cold as a wood one, a definite advantage in the winter.
