Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DrDon Hinge Failure = Kohler Failure
We installed one of these and a Bemis 2 years ago. The Kohler hinge failed this year (after the warranty) and the seat no longer has the soft close function; after the boys got used to dropping the seat. Kohler took 3 weeks to tell me that I had to buy the entire hinge assembly for about $25 and for shipment in no less than 28 days. They don't just have the hinge part that failed and won't treat it as a warranty item.
The quick release is good, but the construction tends to collect liquid from poor aiming boys, making it essential that you can remove the seat for cleaning.
We will replace this with another Bemis which has performed flawlessly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 The best seat ever!
I bought one of these seats for our main bathroom. My husband was against it because it was more than what he'd normally spend. But after having it for a few months, he asked that we get seats for all the toilets in the house! The quick release makes cleaning super easy. Has held up for over 2 years with 3 males in the family. Really a great product!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JoyBella Finally...it's removeable!
This toilet seat is remarkable...I can't believe it's taken so long for someone to introduce this to the marketplace.
The toilet seat itself is similar to other brands, however it can be removed so that cleaning both the seat and the bowl is much easier.
This is fantastic! It should win the award for the best new product in the marketplace for 2007.

I thought it was crazy to spend so much money on a toilet seat but after reading the great reviews, I had to give it a try. Honestly, this is the best toilet seat I have ever sat on. Not only it is beautiful to look at, it is so quite, cannot be slammed shut and is so easy to clean. I will be replacing ever old toilet seat in my home.

Good selection from online inventory[unlike local Home Depot store which had none] & good order/delivery service. Product good but a bit confusing re installation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Donn Kohler self closing toilet seat
My husband selected this toilet seat, I would have chosen a less expensive one. However, I really the self-closing feature,& it can be taken off easily for cleaning. I've already recommended it to a few friends.

I had this seat for just under a month when the fragile plastic clips cracked. Since this is a quick-release seat, it has two sets of jaws/clips that grab onto the hardware that is screwed onto the toilet. The problem is that these plastic jaws are extremely brittle and fragile. The left side cracked within two weeks, and the right side cracked within a month.
It was very easy to install, but another problem that I had was that it never felt "solid" because of the weak hinge clips. It made lots of creaking/squeaking noised when sat on. The slow closing feature was nice, but not as fluid as the seat that I just purchased to replace. (from a different manufacturer) Also, the new seat that I have (which I won't mention due to the review guidelines) has a far superior quick release mounting system. Honestly, I can't believe that the fragile brittle seat mounting clips got past research and development.
If you read the reviews, you will notice that I'm not the only one with the cracking problem. Anyway, I should have saved the box and receipt, but I didn't think I had to, so it's my loss. Save yourself the trouble and look at the quick release mounts in the store. It will be obvious which brand you should get.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MR77 Good toilet seat
This toilet seat is extremely easy to install. I sit on the closed toilet seat when I put on my make-up and it does not move or slide around. It is much nicer than the one that came with the toilet and I will always buy this type again.
