Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Roof Impressive Kohler Groove shower base
I have numerous Kohler products in our home, and the reason is their products are always top notch. This shower base is no exception and is pretty impressive in nature.
This shower base is well constructed being acrylic, and is large. I'm in the middle of the install but wanted to give my input so far. One of the main reason for installing this shower is so we can not only use it ourselves, but to give our large dog a bath without lifting him up and into the tub.
One of the first things is, keep in mind this base has a rear drain. It doesn't mean the drain is at the rear of the shower head. Think of it this way, you have the shower doors, and the drain is on the opposite wall of the doors. Usually a drain is left or right of the opening. You will not be able to have your shower head over the drain. Because the water would spray the doors. I hope this helps anyone who is thinking of replacing a bathtub with this pan, and is expecting the drain to be located where their tub drain is. Plumbing can get pretty involved, and may be best left up to a plumber.
I too did not get installation instructions in the box, nor does HomeDepot have them listed. However, on Kohler's site there are easily downloadable instructions. I highly recommend following the detailed instructions, especially on leveling and using leveling compound to level. This is not a DIY project unless you are very handy.
This is a recommended product.

I like the product. Installation was done by a proffesional it took 4 hours for them to install. They said it was not bad. i combined this product with a shower Kohler K-706009-L-MX shower door which fit perfectly. You should order shower drain water cover as well. It looks nice. Material is high quality. I am hoping to use this shower pan for a long time hope it will last too. The size is big not a regular shower pan so you will have to remove couple tiles if you are gonna reinstall. Overall i like the product and i would recommend it to my friends.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sebastian A lot of room to turn around
This shower base is big and very useful . A lot of room to turn around. It is well built with fiberglass reinforced materials, and I believe it is virtually unbreakable.
The usable space is around 56 inches length and 31 inches wide for stand up shower.
You can easily put a bench or chair in it for your convenience. Very easy to give a bath for the children.
I love the color; it is pure white. It has dirt resistant surface.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keith BIG, HIGH QUALITY, GOOD LOOKING SHOWER PAN
This Kohler acrylic "Groove" shower pan is white though it is available in several colors...biscuit, almond, dune, ice gray and sandbar (check Kohler's website to make sense of these color names). It measures 60 x 42 x 4.5. It's solid and sturdy (very heavy, two people minimum to move).
It is not easy to install. It has no detailed instructions and...it's a shower pan, they're just not easy! It is much easier, however, than building one from scratch using concrete. Advanced DIYers could do this if you're not in a hurry. If you decide to tackle it you will need a few pieces that don't come with the pan, a shower surround, water service pipes, drainage pipes, shims, hardware and fixtures, for example. And tile, if like me, you are planning to tile above the pan.
As you can tell by the dimensions listed above, this unit is large, real large. You should try to get a look at one prior to ordering, to ensure it's what you really want. The footprint is larger than a lot of bathtubs. I'm a big guy and I like lots of room in the shower. I can't stand banging into walls or curtains when I'm showering so this one will work well for me. When the package arrived, I was happily surprised by how big it was. I'm designing my bathroom around the shower so the big size is not an impediment, but if you're installing this in an existing bathroom the size may be critical.
It's got a trough along the back edge to increase drainage because the base is shallow. I don't mind it, but some people may find this unattractive so you may want to check out the trough cover Kohler has available in teak or aluminum.
Kohler claims that it has a slip-proof finish, but it seems very smooth to me. I prefer that because it is so hard to clean those gritty finishes they put on some tubs and showers for that purpose. Also the pan is very flat and not conducive to slips, but if slipping is an issue for you, you may want to put something in there to reduce that possibility.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cluttered Good size
The shower receptor is exactly what I was looking for. I'm remodeling the master bathroom. One of the features is to remove the bath tub and to replace it with a shower. The receptor is made of heavy fiberglass and is the perfect dimensions 60" by 42". The shower receptor will be a perfect addition to the make over, perfect size, perfect color, what more could I ask for.

This shower receptor is very sturdy and made of high quality material. It is on the heavy side, and will require more than one person to handle. Apart from that, it was most definitely a pleasure to handle. I used some foam insulation underneath, to compensate for unleveling of my floor. It is one of the best products I have used in my home. Highly Recommend.

The product is a solid good base. Installation was fairly easy. Required some shimming. No detailed instructions for this.

This base is planned for replacing a bathtub. Once the old tub is removed you will have to make sure your sub-floor is flat, level and the walls are square. Next is relocating the drainage in which can be easy or difficult so I recommend hiring a certified plumber to do this part. Overall this is a very nice unit.
