Bought 3 of these toilets at the same time to replace the builder installed toilets. Have had several issues that have varied with each toilet. First issue that is consistent among all of the toilets is that toilet paper will stick to the inside of the elongated bowl due to the low water level and minimal water that actually flushes. Second issue is that the seats seems to slide slightly off center while sitting down. Third issue is that toilet is hard to unclog due to uncommon opening. Fourth and most annoying issue is one of the toilets will splash your inner thigh when flushing. Probably would look into a different brand next time.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by taj Sorry I purchased these
I purchased two of these toilets in September 2014 and to date, I have had to have these things repaired twice already (once where the tanks don't fill after flushing unless we remove the top and tap the mechanism inside, and once where the water constantly runs). Yesterday I noticed that once again, the same issue is happening with one of them (which means the other will be next). The last time I had these problems fixed was in June and here I am again calling a plumber! I am convinced (was convinced after the second fix) that I purchased defective toilets. This makes me determined to steer clear of all Kohler products in the future! I am at the point now where I feel like I need to just replace these things all over again -- definitely with a different brand! So disgusted.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tere You will have to clean the toilet bowl more often.
With such little water flushes well. But this product doesn't flush the attached bits even after 3rd or 4th flush. You will have to either scrub it off the surface or let it sit for a few hours and then flush. If you you have bigger than average bowel movements you will have to scrub the toilet every time after use. I wouldn't recommemd it.

Replaced old toilet for a high rise . The old toilet never had a problem with plugging this one plugs almost every time . this is not fun when this is the main guest toilet. Can not wait to replace it with a real toilet.

I have no problem with the toilet in general. It was installed 2013 and now has a problem with the flush valve seal. It periodically folds under and creates a slight leak which causes the system to refill. I know the problem and how it needs to be corrected, but after being a homeowner for over 50 years this is a first. It is my understanding that a replacement is approximately $22 but then I need someone to replace the part who knows what they are doing.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jwanderson Easy installation, good flush, great toilet!
This is a very good replacement toilet. Solid construction and finish, efficient flushing action, simple valve and flap construction and operation, and the toilet fits standard openings in just about every home today.
The kit comes with all mounting hardware (new bolts, nuts and caps for the drain opening, bolts to mount tank to the bowl, and a new wax ring, which I recommend over the rubber rings. I started off with the rubber ring and it kept kinking or collapsing sideways into the opening. The kit does NOT come with a replacement supply line to connect your water source to the toilet, and I strongly recommend replacing this anytime you install a new toilet. An 18" hose will work perfectly. Grab a roll of teflon tape also, if you don't already have some, to cover the threads on the supply line and on the fitting on the tank.
The toilet seat is a bit higher than the one we replaced, by about an inch or two. This is actually good for my wife and I, as we are 6' and 5'11", respectively. This shouldn't be a problem unless you're 5' or shorter. Our three-year old is a little challenged to use it, but we remedied that with a small step stool. Our five year old has no problem at all using it.
The seat is a basic plastic model that does NOT have the silent close, where the seat and lid descend slowly to the bowl instead of falling freely. For the price of this toilet, they really should have included one and, in fact, if I were a company like Kohler promoting premium toilets I'd probably make that a standard feature. It really is useful, especially if you have kids.
The flushing action is short and sweet. The bowl is flushed with 1.28 gallons of water, which are quickly released into the bowl. This creates a swift, strong flushing action that empties the bowl in only two seconds. Our older toilet would slowly fill up the bowl until there was enough water to overcome the backpressure from the drain, and flushes would take closer to ten seconds. The water is released into the bowl via a rear-facing jet at the bottom of the bowl, which pushes the waste quickly up and around a much simpler drain passage compared to older toilets. This should reduce the tendency of the toilet to clog, and is also why the toilet can flush so quickly.
The conventional flapper is replaced with a more piston-like mechanism in Kohler toilets. I presume this means you can't replace later with a standard flapper, but I don't know for sure. At any rate, the mechanism is still very simple in design and functionally the same as the typical flapper. It's far too soon to tell how long this will hold up over time, and I haven't looked to see how much it will cost to replace when the time comes. The water valve and float look pretty standard.
As I said earlier, I wish the toilet had included a silent seat, and maybe one of better materials than plastic, especially for the price, but all in all I'm still very pleased with this toilet, and will likely choose it again to replace the other toilets in our house, when that time comes.
