We already had this model from a recent remodel and when our other 20 year old commode began wasting water we decided to go with the same proven model. Flush system uses a minimal amount of water with great results and the elongated bowl is quite accommodating. This replaced a contractor cadet sized toilet and the difference was night and day. Be sure to get a decent sized wax ring as the waste port sits a tad high on this model. Our closet flange sits about 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the tile so we opted for an extra long wax ring with built in horn without issues.

This toilet comes with flush components factory installed and uses a canister valve instead of a flapper valve. After the toilet was installed by a plumber the canister valve leaked causing the tank to refill every 5 minutes. The plumber worked on it for almost an hour and even replaced the canister valve seal. He finally gave up and told me to contact Kohler. Since the valve is supplied installed by Kohler, it's not the plumber's responsibility to fix the issue. So after paying $145 to have the toilet installed, I've got to play plumber and resolve the problem. Thanks Kohler and adios.

I purchased 2 toilets of Kohler product and I am very happy with the quality and performance of these units.
Replaced a 50 year old toilet and a cheap $98 dollar toilet that had a constant issue with clogging. The height is a plus for I am not about to lick my knees and I am not making love to it after I or anyone else is done using these units because of constant clogging. With regulations in place to save water and with constant problems of toilets clogging and multi flushes, it did not make no sense to waste money and time with old junk toilets. "Kohler" High quality and expert customer service at a great price!!!!! Highly Recommended.

Some people at Kholer put their heads together and came up with a great product. Worked great for 3 months and suddenly backed up. Could not plunge it. Had the cesspool opened and the problem was in the line to the pool. From the start I wondered how you can get such a great flush with so little water. Now I know that you must hold handle down a bit longer to empty the tank to flush bigger amounts. the problem was not the toilet it was because I have a long horizontal run to the cesspool witch required more water. My own fault, I never noticed instructions to hold down handle a bit. Now that the problem is solved I can,t rave enough about this product

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by doubleosix Never thought I'd say "I love my new toilet" as often as I've been saying it lately.
(If I get the $100 water-savings rebate then this will REALLY have been an economic purchase, but even without it, under $200 for this toilet is, I feel a good bargain).
I replaced a twenty or thirty year old toilet which had gotten clogged with enough mineral deposits that it flushed poorly, rarely fully emptying the bowl, even though it used a LOT of water.
This new toilet uses VERY little water and even though they don't promote this as a feature, it sort-of has a dual flush option; if you lightly push down the handle it does a minimal flush that clears the bowl of liquid, and if you push the handle down and hold it for just a moment, you get a full, complete flush. So it's a dual-flush toilet for much less than you'd normally pay.
Installation was a snap; in my case any toilet installation is going to be challenging because the drain hole sits unusually deep below the surface of the floor, so I had to purchase an additional, double-width wax ring (and longer mounting screws) to make this work, but that's because of my home, not anything Koehler.
The extra two inches of bowl height took about a moment to get used to --- it's SO much better than "standard" height, and the included toilet seat is high-quality and very comfortable.
Anyway, bottom line --- I really love my new toilet!

I purchased two of these toilets approximately 1 year ago because I wanted the "comfort height" and elongated bowl. In addition, I thought it would be a bonus to have the 1.28 GPF as it would save water / money. Kudos on the height and bowl shape, however, the 1.28 GPF is a joke! This toilet runs on and on and on.....it has been doing this since the day I had it installed by a licensed plumber. For no apparent reason, it will start running at all times of the day and night. My water bill is running an average of $5.30 more per month than before I installed these two toilets.
I don't think the "innards" of this 1.28 GPF unit have been property engineered / tested and you might want to get a 1.6 GPF toilet and save some money / aggravation.
