What kind of plunger works on this toilet?

Have purchased 3 plungers, on the advice of HD, and none of them work on this toilet. Toilet has so little water going into the main that it plugs up at least once a week or more. Had to pull the toilet 3 times now to clear the main, flushing it out each time. Never had this problem with the older models.

Try taking the flush valve apart [the float] and clean it. When I replaced mine small particles of dirt got trapped in it and the tank took a long time to fill.

I haven't found one yet that works. please post if you find one as mine clogs too. I did buy a 1.6gpf Kohler for the powder room, less solid waste there, so not a fair test, but it hasn't clogged as often as 1.3gpf Highline.

Thank you for your inquiry. Here are some possibilities to consider since your toilet may have a weak flush:
1. Make sure water level in tank is appropriate; there is a water line marking, probably on the flush valve in the tank, or on the inside back wall of the tank. If you still have paperwork that came with your Highline, it will probably show you how to adjust the tank water level.

2. Vent pipe is not blocked or clogged; a blocked vent pipe will prevent air from flowing through the vent. Correct air flow through the vent is critical for the correct waste flow.
3. Drain line...since you are continuously clearing the drain line, there may be some obstruction down the line, or if you have an older home the drain line pitch may be inadequate for current low-flow toilets.
If none of these seem to be issues, you may want to try a different type of toilet tissue. Some grades of toilet paper contain lanoline, dyes, and other compounds that provide certain benefits to consumers (i.e. softness, fragrance, strength) yet inhibit the proper breakdown of the paper in flowing water. There are also many brands of paper that use raw materials of different types with different breakdown characteristics. Here is a toilet paper test you could try:
1. Put a single ply sheet of toilet paper in a quart mason jar with tap water.
2. Shake the jar moderately for 10 seconds; the duration of a typical toilet flush.
3. The paper that dissolves or shreds most will provide the best flushing performance and less opportunity for clogs to develop.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kohler, can't go wrong.. Other than the shipping, 18 days a bit much.. Everything went fine... May 17, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Inconsistent Quality Bought 3 of these toilets at the same time to replace the builder installed toilets. Have had several issues that have varied with each toilet. First issue that is consistent among all of the toilets is that toilet paper will stick to the inside of the elongated bowl due to the low water level and minimal water that actually flushes. Second issue is that the seats seems to slide slightly off center while sitting down. Third issue is that toilet is hard to unclog due to uncommon opening. Fourth and most annoying issue is one of the toilets will splash your inner thigh when flushing. Probably would look into a different brand next time. July 5, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sorry I purchased these I purchased two of these toilets in September 2014 and to date, I have had to have these things repaired twice already (once where the tanks don't fill after flushing unless we remove the top and tap the mechanism inside, and once where the water constantly runs). Yesterday I noticed that once again, the same issue is happening with one of them (which means the other will be next). The last time I had these problems fixed was in June and here I am again calling a plumber! I am convinced (was convinced after the second fix) that I purchased defective toilets. This makes me determined to steer clear of all Kohler products in the future! I am at the point now where I feel like I need to just replace these things all over again -- definitely with a different brand! So disgusted. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the comfort height The toilet looks classy and should save us some money with the low flush water system. The person who picked it up for me at the store had to go through a few hoops but it worked. I had preordered and paid for it and gave his name as the pick up person. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 2 factors considered in the purchase. The height, I enjoy now and later in life may become necessary. The unit will be around for decades. The installer did replace the Wax Ring with a better quality however. July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Koehler Highline Ckassic The box the toilet arrived in was sealed. However the both sets of screws and bolts were missing to prevent completion of installation. The plumber installing the toilet had to use his resources from his own inventory in the truck in order to jury rig the installation. Also the black tubing in the compartment was pinched and prevented satisfactory water flow into the toilet. Again the installing plumber had to jury rig a fix and replace the water hose with a new one he had available in his inventory in his truck.arrived in. Great toilet but poor contents in the delivery box!!!!! June 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprisingly Good Flush Let's get down to the specifics - what people want in a toilet is for it to flush everything. With one flush. I was skeptical that this low water use toilet would do the job. It was on sale; it had a rebate available; and most importantly my cat's bathroom toilet hadn't flushed well for ages. When my plumber was at my house for another emergency, I asked him to take a look. Verdict: get a new toilet. I went online, pulled up toilets, and asked which to buy. He said this one would be a good value. He was right. I was able to buy the toilet at the store and make arrangements for my plumber to pick it up from the Customer Service desk. Only issue was a long wait for him at 8 am on a Monday morning. He had no problems with the installation. Good flush. In the days that followed my concerns that it wouldn't flush everything disappeared. I'm a happy camper! July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice upgrade Even though I ordered it in white, the Home Depot employee thought I would like Biscuit better which was not discovered until all the way home. It worked out fine as it matches the sink top in my guest bathroom. Toilet is comfort height and wonderful. July 19, 2016
