adjust water level in the bowl

how do you adjust the water level in the bowl? I have got the water in the tank at the line , but very little water in the bowl
Asked by: fdr
You can't adjust the water level in the bowl, it levels out with the internal trap which is a fixed part. You can only adjust the water height in the tank.

What is the meaning of Dual-Flush.

Asked by: Anonymous
It is a split handle, so you can use the chrome lever or the green one. The longer green lever provides a light flush at 1.1 gallons and the full lever gives a complete flush at 1.6 gallons.

Hello, do you have a flush rating for this product?

Asked by: Anonymous
The "flush rating" is not the problem so much as the water being too low in the bowl so that solid waste lands on the porcelain and takes 15 flushes to wash it clean. Tell me, how does THAT "save" water? Although I'd like to buy new, taller, toilets now, I'm keeping what I have until toilet designers get a clue and design a toilet with a trap that leaves enough water in the bowl so that solid waste does NOT land on the porcelain! My toilet ALWAYS works with only ONE flush - and that's with three large sealed containers of water sitting in the tank to reduce the amount of water used in each flush. The key is that there is enough water surface IN THE BOWL to prevent solid waste landing on, and sticking to, the porcelain, which requires MANY flushes to get the bowl clean. I'd rather deal with a toilet a little lower than I'd prefer, rather than deal with solid waste landing on and sticking to porcelain and having to flush 15 times to clean it off.

Highline Complete Solution 2-piece 1.1 or 1.6 GPF Dual Flush Elongated Toilet in White is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 160.

It is a fairly low-traffic toilet in our household, we are on city water, and no cleaning products are added to the tank. All the hoses are in place. Until last week, it functioned fine. The only problem I had with it is that the fill mechanism is very loud after a flush, which is compounded by a long fill time compared to every other toilet I have ever used. This is in our master bathroom, so when it is flushed during sleep hours, the level and duration of noise is problematic. We learned to live with the noise as we were happy with everything else about it. Last week, (just several months after it was installed), when using the green "small flush" lever, the fill valve would stick open. I guess the extremely loud filling comes in handy now, because you cannot miss the fact that the fill valve is stuck open (except once when it was used just before we left the house and presumably ran for 10 hours). Several days later, the valve hangs open when using the regular flush lever as well. It appears to me that the fill/flush valve is poorly designed. There is so much wobble and play in the linkage that connects the float to the valve that as the water level rises in the tank, the float is able to rotate enough to where it becomes jammed at an angle before rising high enough to shut the valve off. It's hard to see in my photo, but if you look closely at the linkage running from the valve down to the float, you can see the angle it is at compared to the float. This seems to be caused by the float itself "rotating" enough to jam it before it rises fully. Pulling up on the valve lever immediately closes the valve. I tried several adjustments on the linkage to the float, and it is currently functioning properly with the float extended all the way to the lower limit. Which means that there is no further adjustment if it starts happening again. It would be easy to think of it as a simple adjustment issue, but the fact that it worked fine for a few months and then suddenly has a problem indicates some sort of deterioration in the product. It is so frustrating to be a consumer these days as it is the norm for brand new products to fail so quickly.

Just bought and installed and seems to be a very nice toilet for the price point. These are very nice looking toilets and the internal workings are very strong versus a typical cheaper toilet with a rubber flapper and float. The dual flush is fairly quiet and very easy to use and works very smoothly. This toilet was really easy to install. Only thing I would do would be to buy a different extended wax ring, as the one supplied is very small and thin. Does not come with a water supply line.

This toilet looks nice, but the bowl does not fill enough to allow for a complete rinse (the tank does fill completely). I would NOT recommend this product, nor purchase it again. BTW, the toilet was installed by a plumbing contractor who agrees that it does not provide an adequate flush. Buy something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from well well well.... it took longer to get it out of the box then it did to install it ! it was ver... well well well.... it took longer to get it out of the box then it did to install it ! it was very easy to assemble - 2 bolts to install the seat - 3 nuts and washers to install the tank - 2 bolts nuts and washers to hold the toilet to the flange .... I bought a new n longer water supply line ( good thing I did because the old one was 3/4 of an inch to short after learning that a wax ring will blow out and leak if you plunge a toilet - I decided to buy a rubber wax ring ! the toilet works GREAT and I saved a lot of cash installing it myself ( a plumber would have charged me a few hundred dollars to do less then 15 minutes of work ! )

I have been meaning to write an amazing review on this toilet since we had it installed by a professional plumber almost 2 years ago during a renovation. I wish I had found it sooner, as the toilet we installed a few weeks prior in a different bathroom was a total waste of money. This toilet has stood the test of 2 years time with 2 potty training toddlers who love to flush. I honestly chose the fixture for its simple aesthetic, but could not be happier with its performance as well. I am just about to specify 3 of them for a client and it will 100% be the next toilet I buy when the others in my house need to be replaced.

My only grip is the the gap between the tank and the wall. It says Rough opening is 12", but if you look at the drawings on Kohler's web site it shows that its really 10 1/4". They want a 12" Rough for install, which is fine except for now I have a 2" gap between the tank and the wall. This is a very nice system, seems to work well with the perfect height for me(5' 10") and looks great in my new bathroom. It came with a pretty nice seat and lid with rubber bumpers so it wont slide side to side, but its not Slow Close, so it'll have to go....

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Flushes great but super uncomfortable I'm 5'3" and my feet barely touch the ground when I sit on this toilet. I didn't spend too much time researching toilets because I didn't think it would make much difference, but I wish I would have. I really hate this toilet. It's so elongated and high that it's really uncomfortable to sit on. I'd return it if I could.

One was an ELMBROOK model and it worked fantastically (so far). The other two were the HIGHLINE model dual flush toilet, one elongated and one round. Neither of them worked well with the flush refill feature. Using the full flush they either continued to run or filled and slowly leaked and cycled filling until I jiggled the "flapper" valve to seat it properly. No problem with the ELMBROOK even though the mechanisms look the same. I sent an email to the customer service on Monday and haven't heard anything back from them as of Wednesday. I bought them at the same time so I didn't realize there was a problem with the design. I can't bring the toilets back and I really don't want to go through the install again. The designs are different so I can't go get the other design and install it in the HIGHLINE units. So far my recommendation is to get the ELMBROOK model if anyone wants to get a Kohler at all.
