I recently had this door installed. It looks great but is squeaky when opened or closed. I'd appreciate any suggestions on dealing with this problem. Thanks!

The outside door has clips on the rollers to keep the door on track. These two clips have to be straight up and down so that they do not rub up against the track. You probably need to have your contracter come back and adjust them. It might mean that the rollers will have to be adjusted slightly to move the clips or the metal retainer might have to be removed so that the clips can be adjusted to straight up and down. Very simple if you installed the doors.

Can you tell me the dimensions of the frames on the wall? How far back from the edge of the tub do the wall frames sit?

Asked by: Ke
Hello Ke, my name is Tiffany with Kohler Co. I am happy to answer the questions about the Levity shower door. The dimensions of the wall jambs are roughly .5 inch wide and 53 inches tall. There is an additional wall cleat that fits next to the wall jamb that measures 2.5 wide. This means the total over all width is about 3 inches. The wall jamb will position against the wall so that it is 1/16″ from the shower base/bath ledge radius. Thank you for choosing The Bold Look Of Kohler.

I'm not a contractor but I am a DIY'er. Installed the doors and they look great. If you do not use a pro, carefully follow the instructions and have all the tools Kohler tell you to have. Read instructions all the way through several times before starting on the project so that you don't get half way through and find out you did something wrong. And take you time doing the install. The doors really look good and they roll perfectly. Hopefully they will last a long time and also that parts will be available in the future just in case a roller goes bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and Modern Love this tub / shower enclosure. The glass doors slide with ease simply from side to side with black rubber at the end of the beam so the glass can not get damaged. What sold me on this enclosure was the 21/2" nickel beam that runs along the top with two nickel circles that cover the railing system. ( you will see doors with this look in decor magazine's it's the new way for contemporary doors ) The door handles which are on both sides of the door are 9" long and 1/4 " wide. Simple and effective in the look. The glass doors have been treated so that it repels water spots. Definitely well made and good value for your money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from All about the looks The shower doors look great. Installation was ridiculously complex. This door is not for the faint of heart. You need to be prepared to saw the metal pieces with a miter box to ensure pieces remain square. I was not expecting to have to cur and drill so much on the framing system. Be sure you get it right the first time. There are no second chances with this thing. Once installed it looks great... It could use a few nicer touches like better material on the wheel covers (silver disks at tops of door) but all in all it looks as I expected. And I am very happy with how it works in my space. Its fine to buy, but know what you're getting into...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Complicated install I am a contractor and have installed tub/ shower sliding doors about 30 times and these by far are the most complicated. From the beginning the instructions are confusing. Near the start the guide for the doors is only held in place with silicone to the tub. This would take a few days to be strong and I can see it falling off in a few months. I later added 2 small screws because my tub was acrylic where with other tubs like cast iron you are out of luck and have to rely on just the silicone. Later the wheels go onto the glass panels and it is not clear which wheels go on what panel because it reads inside, outside front and back, totally confusing and requires some trial and error. Some wheels are also tagged red or blue so maybe Kohler could state by color where they belong. Also the screws for the wheels were too short and I had to use the longer ones enclosed although they are really for thicker glass according to the instructions. After that mess there are anti jump clips that need to go inside the top track and nowhere are they explained or shown in the instructions, more trial and error. Finally the handles just stick to the glass with double faced tape so there is no telling how long before they fall off on the inside that gets wet. In summary it took 2 of us just about 3 1/2 hours where other doors take 1 hour so be prepared to spend half a day with these. I thought about giving them 1 star but they are actually somewhat nice when finally installed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from KOHLER Levity 59-5/8 in. W x 59-3/4 in. H Frameless Bypass Shower Door Kohler should be a shame to place their logo on product like this. Beside more or less modern look there is nothing good to say about this shower door. Packaging is horrible. Nothing was really damaged, but it is probably because I was just lucky. Over all, it is unnecessary complicated design. Parts are made of paper thin aluminum and cheapest plastic. If you are planning to install it yourself make sure you have plenty of time. It will require a lot of measurement, cutting, and drilling. You even need to glue the door handles to the glass. Even though the price is looks OK, at the end I would probably pay more to get something with better quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from experienced installer says "don't buy!" Having installed about 40 shower/ tub doors in my career as a remodeler, I have found Kohler doors to be well engineered and easy to install, plus I liked the large roller wheels on this unit since smaller wheels seem to be prone to problems. So I recommended this unit for a customer, BIG MISTAKE. They totally dropped the ball on this unit. The side rail are supposed to be held by ONE SCREW, which works if you cut the bottom rail to the 1/32 inch as it's supposed to pinch both side rails against wall. If you wall is not perfectly flat there are no screws to pull rail to wall. Also makes for a messy caulking job as everything is moving as you're trying to apply sealant. The outside roller keeper brackets are too short and rub against track. The inside roller keeper track is not pre drilled and requires a 5/32 bit exactly. I have one, DO YOU? The rubber bumper brackets and suppose to be held together with sealant -- they're not! This is just a few of it's problems. I'm warning you, and not as some irate inexperienced home owner, DON'T BUY. Pass on this unit till Kohler works out the engineering/ installation bugs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from updated? I recently bought this door because I found it on clearance, I personally thought the instructions were quite clear, my bottom guid and handles had 3m adhesive on them from the package. So just peal and sick. And they seemed to have a very good bond. I am a contractor my self and have installed a few shower doors my self in the past. this one did take a little more time then some. roughly 3 hours by my self. only time will tell how it holds up though
