Customer Questions & Answers

Soaking Length

I am trying to figure out the length available for my legs. Do I look at the "Basin Area, Bottom" measurements? Is the 45 inches in that measurement reflect the length of the bottom of the tub basin WITHOUT the lumbar angle? (And the "Basin Area, Top" measurement of 54 includes the lumbar angle?) Any insights would be appreciated. I'm 5' 9" and I am looking for a 60" cast iron tub in which I don't have to bend my knees.
Asked by: Debra
The tub length is the measurement to look for and in this case, it is 60 inches.

What is the actual soaking depth?...the information listed is not clear.

The product depth is listed as "60" and the specifications states over 17 inches and somewhere else it is listed as 11 and 5/16 inches. It is important to have the correct information in making a choice; also has acrylic listed when this is a cast iron tub. I am trying to find the deepest soaking tub and the information makes this tub look like it is 17 inches deep. Thank you.

Will a Dreamline glass shower door fit on this tub?

Specifically, I have Dreamline SHDR-1260588-04 Brushed Nickel Duet Bypass Sliding Tub Door 60" x 58" w/ Integrated Towel Bars and want to make sure it is compatible with this tub. Thanks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful addition to our bathroom I agree with the previous reviewer -- our bathtub was defective ... once we rectified that by receiving a new bathtub, all went well. Just make sure to look it over very carefully upon delivery! The tub also is nice for a tub/shower combo -- it is about 3" wider than a regular bathtub and about 2" deeper -- but not too high to step over to take a shower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tub for the money Looked at many competing tubs from other manufacturers in different materials. Acrylic, fiberglass, and steel, and Vikrell are nowhere near as nice as cast iron. Of course, cast iron is more $ and three times the weight. Price and delivery service through Home Depot was top-notch, only problem is they will only deliver to the driveway, not into the house. Wish they offered white-glove service to place the 350 lb. tub in the bathroom as moving it was a bear to deal with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a beauty! One of the first things I asked my contractor was if he would be able to get this heavy cast-iron tub up to the second floor of my 90 year-old home. When he said he could, I was relieved because I loved the look of the Memoirs line, and had my heart set on a good quality tub. They had to reinforce the old floor so that it would adequately support the tub, and the heaviness of the tub did make it difficult for the crew to get it upstairs. The difference between this tub and my last one, though, is remarkable; it feels more spacious: wider and deeper, and its finish is beautiful. We love it! The only problem I had was with the private carrier's (NOT Home Depot) driver who delivered the tub. He rudely told me that I hadn't paid for anything more than curbside delivery (what did I know...?), and he actually left the tub IN THE STREET!! That was pretty upsetting, but four utility workers saw the whole thing happen, and were kind enough to at least lift it up onto the subway for us. So, watch what kind of delivery you order! All in all, though, I could not be happier with this lovely Memoirs tub!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lines and crisp design Really pleased with both the design and HD service. Bought this at year-end with free shipping. A heavy beast at 483lbs shipped, came from the east coast to west coast without any issues. Arrived on time, trucking company called, arrived early, but wasn't an issue. Smartly palletized and no damage (was skeptical that it would arrive in one piece). I would definitely buy again and from HD.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This item was returned This tub is a bear, decided to recoat existing tub rather than pay movers to attempt to move this one to a second-floor bathroom. This tub is also half an inch shorter than my existing one, which would have required additional plumbing costs. There was also a spot on the front which looked like thin porcelain. Not a huge spot, but for $1,000 I expect no blemishes. Home depot is very nice for taking it back, however the delivery company could barely get it in my driveway. Would recommend for new construction, not a remodel (especially on a 2nd floor accessible via stairs).
