Product Overview

The tiered edges of the cover, bowl and base mimic crown molding on this Memoirs one-piece elongated toilet in almond. The sophisticated Stately style from Kohler will infuse any bathroom with a refreshing burst of appeal, outdone only by the high-efficiency performance of the commode’s primary function: vigorous flushing with less water. Aided by a patented AquaPiston flush valve, this comfort-height toilet utilizes gravity’s full potential to thoroughly siphon the bowl’s contents down the glazed trapway to the waste outlet. Using only 1.28 gallons per flush, it corresponds to a 20 percent reduction in water use compared to 1.6 GPF toilets commonly installed since the mid-1990s.

Customer Questions & Answers

Does this Kohler product K-3813 come in the color "biscuit"?

Asked by: Anonymous
No -- at least not from Home Depot. You might want to check directly with Kohler. On the HD site, this comes in eight colors -- Almond, Cashmere, Dune, Ice Gray, Mexican Sand, Sand Bar, Thunder Gray, and White. I would guess that the Almond is the closest to what you're looking for.

Memoris Stately 1-Piece 1.28 GPF Single Flush Elongated Toilet with AquaPiston Flush Technology in Almond is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Memoris Stately 1-Piece Elongated This is my fourth Kohler toilet, and undoubtedly the best thus far. There are noticeable differences in toilets, and generally speaking the more you spend, the better you'll like it and less likely to have problems. However, every Kohler product I have owned, truly impresses me. This toilet has superb flushing technology. My other ones came with a 2" flush valve, this one comes with a 3" flush valve. It has a MaP Performance Rating of 1000. That is the highest rating there is. It also has a fully glazed 2-1/8" trap way. The Aqua Piston flush system is quite the technology over the traditional flapper style. Being one piece, is easier to clean and the aesthetically aspect is pleasing. I also like this toilet bolts to he floor in the conventional style. You do not need a template or special hold down with tray way. If you've ever used the other fastening methods, you know what I mean. This Stately is more compact than the 2 piece version I have. If you're trying to match a 2 piece in the way of height/depth etc, you'll want to compare the specifications of the two. The soft close lid is well, a lot more desirable than a conventional lid. No one needs to here a lid slamming in the middle of the night or any other time. This is a recommended product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Elegant, Functional Toilet — But Worth the Price? A couple of months ago, we had a Kohler Highline Classic installed in our downstairs bathroom, and we were so pleased that we decided to replace the upstairs toilet with a Kohler, as well. This Stately 1-piece model, from the Memoirs line, is simple and elegant, with an amazing flushing action. (You can Google Kohler AquaPiston for videos that explain the technology and show it work. Take my word for it — it isn’t just marketing hype. We haven’t even seen a slow flush yet, let alone a clog.) I did the install myself. Not the simplest, but only because the toilet is a 1-piece and weighs around 100 lbs. My wife had to sweet-talk the delivery guy into bringing it up the steps so I only had to wrestle it inside, and holding it up while lining up the T-bolts didn’t do anything for my morning mood. Otherwise, very straightforward, and pulling out the old toilet, cleaning up the messy caulk job (an oscillating multitool is a huge help), tidying up around the flange, dropping in the new toilet, shimming it level, and hooking up the water all took less than two hours. Not a leak anywhere, and it filled and flushed perfectly on the first try (the guts came pre-installed). Some mostly minor concerns: * Packing seemed quite thin for an item of this size and weight; no damage, but others might not be so lucky * The description says a wax ring and mounting hardware are included. They weren’t. Not a big deal, but it meant another trip to Home Depot if I wanted to complete the install that day * The toilet seat — while comfortable and perfectly functional — is plastic and feels flimsy. A bit of a disappointment at this price point * The tank cover doesn’t sit quite flush and rocks a bit — again, kind of disappointing at this price point. Bottom line, this is an elegant toilet with a powerful, efficient flushing action. The 1-piece design offers easier cleaning and peace of mind with fewer potential leak points — but is it enough to justify the hefty price tag? Kohler has comparable 1-piece and 2-piece models that run 70-80% less. You’ll have to decide for yourself, but if the looks appeal and it fits your budget, this comes highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Kohler Memoirs series of bath fixtures adds elegance and fine detail to your bathroom. This S... The Kohler Memoirs series of bath fixtures adds elegance and fine detail to your bathroom. This Stately toilet is no exception. It has all the features of a high-end toilet, with water-saving, and new flush technology. So far, I have not had to use a plunger on this toilet while older models of low-flow toilets have always needed plungers. The design of this toilet helps it stand out as it has the faux crown molding accents throughout. The chrome handle is exchangeable for other colors. I had mostly polished brass fixtures so I changed the handle to a brass handle to match existing fixtures in the bathroom. Because this toilet is a one-piece unit, it is an easier install (no need to attach the tank to the bowl), and lower-maintenance (no tank gasket leaks). But it is heavier. While the description mentions it comes with a wax ring and hardware, it only comes with the toilet, toilet seat, bolt caps, and flush handle. You will need a wax ring, floor bolts, and water supply line. I had to use shims to balance my toilet as it was installed on ceramic tile flooring. The Memoirs collection contains matching sinks, faucets, hardware, accessories, bathtub/shower so you can match the whole bathroom or all bathrooms. Overall, a great toilet, including a matching soft-close toilet seat. Perfect for any bathroom but especially for that Master bathroom. Yes, the toilet is a bit expensive, but with the quality of Kohler, it's worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice toilet, but expensive and non-standard installation I have previously replaced some old toilets with Kohler brand toilets, and I definitely prefer the Kohler quality and much more reliable, more powerful flush. I selected this toilet through the Home Depot Seeds program for an upcoming bathroom remodel, and it is the first one piece toilet I've owned. The toilet looks nice, with clean lines and a little bit of character in the design. The AquaPiston flush mechanism is a definite advantage of Kohler toilets--it performs much better than the traditional 'flapper' style toilets and has been much more reliable in my experience--both in the flushing and the mechanism itself. I am regularly having to fiddle with my flapper toilets due to minor issues, but I haven't had a single issue with the two Kohler toilets in my house. I've read the other reviews warning that the installation might be a bit tricky due to the width of the base, water connection, and plastic drain connector on this model, so I'm aware of those potential complications. The one thing I don't understand about this particular model is the pricing. This one piece 1.28 GPF model is much more expensive than most of the other Kohler one piece toilets, which is difficult for me to understand. My only guess is that the high price is due to the unique design of the base and the plastic adapter that is required. The large smooth base of this model is a nice plus, making cleaning much easier, but it seems to come at a fairly steep price. If you like the style of this model but would like something less expensive, the Home Depot site lists some 2-piece Kohler Memoirs Classic models in both 1.28 and 1.6 GPF. Those 2-piece models don't appear to have the smooth rectangular base, but they are about 30% of the price of this 1-piece model.
