Customer Questions & Answers

toilet seat replacement for Kohler Rialto 1-piece toilet

I bought a toilet seat replacement, which of course doesn't fit since you can't get to the anchors underneath. What kind of toilet seat DOES work with this toilet???

Customer Reviews

Rialto 1-piece 1.6 GPF Single Flush Round Toilet in Biscuit is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 69.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor toilet I've been putting up with this toilet for over 3 years. It often clogs. I have to keep a plunger nearby. It has nothing to do with venting either as my vent system exceeds code. It has always had a slow leak with the flapper and it refills every 30 minutes or so. Now the fill valve has failed and it sprays water out the top which ends up on the floor. Unfortunately the fill valve and flapper are propriatary Kohler parts and are not easily replaced. I'm going to have to replace it. It will not be a Kohler toilet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Toilet Seat Design DON'T BUY THIS TOILET!! Looks nice, but the design makes it extremely difficult and expensive to replace the toilet seat. This toilet was in the house we just bought. Toilet seat was loose and cracked. Required a $50 part and a $50 toilet seat ordered from Kohler (Home Depot doesn't sell it) just to switch them out. And then the repair part broke during installation so now I'm back with a brand new (but still loose) toilet seat and will have to go through the whole process again. I may just buy a different brand toilet. Google it. You'll find lots of other people have had the exact same problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unique design leads to trouble down the road. Hundreds of complaints related to changing the toilet seat. Seat anchors often get stuck and require $$$ repair kit which may also fail leading to a total toilet replacement that Kohler will not stand behind. Stay away from this one piece toilet or go with the two piece toilet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad toilette This toilette looks good and is nice small. The only problem is it is useless. I has no flushing power, runs incessantly and clogs way too easily. Have replaced flappers way too often and they are not cheap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DONT BUY IT! If you, any member of your household, or any guest you may ever have in your house currently- or plan on going "#2" in the future- do NOT buy this toilet. You will have to plunge it often, snake it, and have plumbers come to your house. The plumber that came to my house said that this toilet & all "boy" toilets are horrible. After a year & four months of fighting with it we are replacing ours. We haven't even used it for "#2s" in over 6 months. HORRIBLE TOILET & NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get your plunger ready. I bought two of these toilets last year for two small bathrooms. While the one piece design and style is nice, they are the worst toilets I have ever had. These toilets clog up every few day's. We have two boys’ who are 9+12 and I am plunging these toilets each week(no it is not too much paper). I am very disappointed in the cost of these as well as the functionality. I am ready to replace these already and would not suggest getting these unless you are only doing "#1" at your home.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from don't do it! flushes poorly, expensive parts, hard to fix this thing is terrible - you always have to flush twice, even just liquids. the handle comes loose, the flapper is a Kohler-only part, 3x normal cost, the flush valve is an odd, twist-in thing that people can't figure out how to install. Mine is leaking and I'm concerned whether I can fix it - I might just have to replace the whole thing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrific product. DO NOT PURCHASE. You will thank me! In 2006 our baths were remodeled & this product was installed along w/2 Toto Drakes(both superlative products). Due to the low height of the tank the designer recommended it for our child's bath. I had read the Rialto reviews & had serious reservation however the designer assured me her clients were pleased w/the toilet. Sadly I permitted its installation-something i seriously regret! Unlike the 2 Totos, which have NEVER clogged, I have repeatedly had to ;unclog my child's toilet, & not because of excessive use of paper. I have also used it & had it plug up on me! The size of the trap is simply too small, clogs frequently, & toilet has weak flushing power. I've told my child to go potty, flush then wipe & flush again. Absurd! My mother in law managed to plug, flush again, & overflow it. Additionally the flapper design is inferior. The toilet has began leaking water-unlike the 2 Toto Drakes which still have the original flappers from'06, & as others have mentioned, replace flappers/parts even from Kohler do NOT stop leakage resulting in wasted water & higher water bills. Finally the bowl has less use the the 2 Drakes yet becomes filthly & requires more frequent scrubbing. It s/b noted that the Drakes do not have Sanigloss, something I wish I had order, just the standard finish. After 10yrs I've sworn never to purchase Kohler & am going to order a Toto replacement & donate this toilet to charity. The Rialto is an inferior, NOT recomended, product.
