This Rite-Temp pressure-balancing valve works behind the scenes to prevent scalding and thermal shock for optimal comfort. Additionally, the unit features a diaphragm design that virtually eliminates freeze-ups from contamination and water debris. When paired with compatible trim, this valve delivers a high-temperature limit stop and an optimal comfort zone, so you can set a maximum high and then find and maintain your desired water temperature.

  • Rite-Temp pressure-balancing technology maintains water temperature within +/- 3 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Provides anti-scald protection and temperature regulation
  • Back-to-back installation is ideal for unique or high-volume jobs
  • High-temperature safety stop ensures water temperature stays below 120 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Integral screwdriver stops allow you to turn off the water supply at the valve
  • Mounting tabs located on rough-in for secure installation option
  • 5.0 gpm (gallons per minute) flow rate
  • Universal NPT and direct sweat connections need no additional parts for installation
  • Requires valve trim (sold-separately)
  • Brass construction

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by solid product, vague instructions The valve is solid and works well. It looks durable. It's what I expect from Kohler. My issue is with the documentation. Tiny, vague illustrations with as little explanation as possible. Blocks and blocks of multilingual instructions that make the instruction sheet almost impossible to read. Just trying to figure out the correct depth placement in the wall took too long and left me uncertain about whether the installation was correct. Maybe Kohler saved 35 cents by shrinking and cramming all the info into one tiny booklet, but it wasted my time and wasn't necessary. March 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Well Made I found the product exceeded my expectation.s. In this era of "make do" products, I found the Kohler Rite temp valve to be of exceptional quality and value. The brass parts had a fine finish and all components operated smoothly and without any binding. I especially liked the inlet shut-off valves. It will make service, ( if needed in the future) easy, not having to shut-off the main supply valves. I found the instructions packaged with the unit to be complete and relatively easy to understand, giving several installation scenerios.. I am looking to purchase this product in the future for another bathroom. July 22, 2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works as advertized with Kohler quality. Works as advertized with Kohler quality. Instructions good but layout could have somewhat better. April 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Directions This is a well made mixer valve. Impressive. To bad the directions with there terminology aren't more conducive for a do it the yourself person. To me very difficult to understand just where the position should be. I took a best guess and was a little short when I went to install the trim. It was my first attempt with this kind of valve. My advice is make sure everything fits easily between a two by four width. June 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Pressure Balancing Valve Now we can take showers while the washer is running or someone flushes the toilet. The actual water pressure may drop a bit, but the temperature remains pretty much the same. The only reason I put Good rather than Excellent for the "Ease of Installation" is because this valve was only available online, and was only available in the NPT threaded connections. I was hoping for a valve I could just sweat (solder) in. I had to buy the female threaded connections, connect them to the valve, then sweat those into my existing lines. Value was only Good instead of Excellent, because pressure balancing valves in general tend to be pretty expensive. March 19, 2013
