Customer Reviews

Saile 1-piece 0.8 or 1.6 GPF Dual Flush Elongated Toilet in White is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from looks aren't everything Say what you want about plumbers, contractors, handymen........ This is NOT a good design. The one piece is very heavy to mount, and if there is no access behind the toilet ( the toilet is against the wall) it is very hard to seat properly. I removed one for a customer,, and upon re-installation the gasket comes off when it's flushed. The connection between the toilet and the pvc pipe is a compression gasket from porcelain to pvc. really? I'm not sure if it was glued at one point (doesn't look like it was) but now it does not hold. Because I'm unable to find a new gasket or any good information, I tried putting it back three times. Called the company and they sent the wrong gasket. The homeowner is not happy and neither am I.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can a toilet look beautiful? Not sure why these reviews are so bad, but I love this toilet. It's sleek, water saving and easy to clean. Yes, my husband installed it and it was quite difficult and time consuming. He said that you must following the directions EXACTLY and do not improvise! But he got it done and it looks fantastic. A guest came out of the bathroom and she looked a bit strange. I asked her if she was OK and she said, "This house is awesome! Even your toilet looks like a piece of artwork!" I am ordering two more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good features, stylish design Was very pleased with my purchase and it was worth every penny just for the styling. I have a small master bath so every component needed to make a full impact. Features are great, love the silent toilet seat and the dual flush is sure to save $$. Installation is a little out of the ordinary, but not complicated. Please be sure to make sure your water supply is 8.5" from the center or you'll have an expensive mistake!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice, but fussy install & a bit pricey. I had this professionally installed on a concrete slab; plumbers are too proud to READ INSTRUCTIONS for a toilet. The provided template would have worked well, but my guy used it on top of the wax ring & cover, the new bolts ended up slightly off, & the fixture is not square to the wall. Also--the actuating rods have to be cut too length [this should be done @ factory]; mine were made too short, so the buttons ride too low in their housing. I'll have to do it over...but replacement rods [$2 to buy, $6 to ship] are backordered. The toilet works well & looks good, though I wish it had cost less. Mostly, I'm anxious about being able to service the mechanism in such a tiny tank--you can barely fit a hand in. Time will tell.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is about the look This toilet looks great; especially in small spaces. (We put it in a smaller master bath and it does not dominate.) There are a few things to be aware of. The interior bowl is deep and thin and holds very little water in the bottom between flushing. This makes it necessary to flush more than once in certain instances (with the full flush button). There are two flow buttons which is a nice option. It does not take a great deal of pressure to push the button down, so it should be fine for kids and arthritic hands. Installation is tricky. No "johnny bolts" to hold it down. There are two angle brackets that are mounted on the floor inside the back section of the toilet. They are placed by using a clear plastic template, then the toilet slides over them and bolts to the brackets with small side holes. It has to be 12" - no wiggle room or space behind the tank and the wall. I am a handy person, but hired a plumber experienced with this type of toilet. The seat isn't that comfortable, but every persons "seat" is different - they have other options beyond what comes with the toilet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from looks good but...not very effective theres one problem with this model the flushing buttons that mount to the top (tank cover) do not fit the hole that is already factory made. i had to grind it off with other tools because i could not press the flushing plastic buttons without having them get stuck and never lift back up. its a factory defect that i later found out it was also defective on the display one in the show room

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern Design, Strong Flush We purchased Saile toilet because of the modern design and Kohler reputation. We did not have the issues the other reviewers had regarding missing or mis-sized holes. The flush buttons do take some fine-tuning to get the push rods the correct length. I am not very handy and it took me about 1.5 hours to install (after removing old toilet). Just follow the instructions provided. The install guide states the water feed needs to be 8.5" from center line and 7" up off floor. Ours was 6.75" from center line an 5 inches off floor. It was a tight fit, but the water handle still had about 1/4" clearance. And we used a longer flex tube from toilet to water feed. As far as design it took up less space than our prior toilet (a standard 2 piece). The tank is much smaller. It is a very sleek look. The dual flush if 0.8 and 1.6 gallons. The 0.8 is a little weak, but the 1.6 is great. Especially the way this toilet dumps the water in a big waterfall. We've only had it a day, but so far we are very happy with our purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking, tricky install We are renovating 2 bathrooms, so bought two of these and they do look great and they work well. For aesthetics, I would give it 5 stars. Thanks to the small tank, it looks lower and smaller overall than our old "standard" toilets and makes the bathroom look a little bigger. Also cool is the slow closing toilet seat that comes with it. After you get it bast about 45 degrees just let go and it slowly closes, no slamming. The out seat cover completely covers up the "ring" part, so that makes it look nice when closed. Sitting-wise it is higher, so my 5'1'' wife can't really put her feet flat on the floor, just misses. I gave installation 2 stars. We had our plumber do it and I was glad. It does not just slip right in when replacing an old toilet. First he had to use the template to drill holes in our marble tile because it does not use the screws or location that existed with the standard toilet. Second, we had to move the water supply. Ouch and ka-ching!!! Apparently it had to me moved farther away because of how much space the toilet took up near the base. The supply connects to a line that feeds through a hole near the bottom then into the tank. But it makes it look better ;-) Others have warned about the little rods that span between the outer flush buttons and the inner "trigger". Our plumber got them right, but I can see if you cut them too short you would be in trouble! Yes, why aren't they factory sized to be correct? I give long term repairability about 1 start. If you need to replace the flushing mechanism (probably 7-10 years), you have to completely remove the toilet, including decaulking along the base. that is because the supply line connects to the flush/fill components "inside" the single body unit and the only way to disconnect is to remove. the price of beauty ;-( I would still recommend this, but go in with you eyes wide open and expect to pay decent money for difficulty install. I have replaced standard toilets, but was glad I did not do this one. One minor issue, one of ours started to have a continuous "filling" problem. This seems to be due to the length of the rod that connects outer and inner flush mechanism. At first it was fine, but oddly, the problem showed up after a few days, I am scared to cut it, so am slowing trying to file it until it is fine. If I lift off the top or bump the toilet, it is enough to release it, so I should be able to fix it soon.
