Product Overview

The San Souci 1-piece toilet offers a sleek, contemporary design combined with KOHLER touchless flush. Just hold your hand over the tank sensor to activate the flush. No handle to touch means fewer germs to pick up or leave behind. This toilet features innovative AquaPiston technology, a patented flush engine that delivers a fast, powerful, and plug-free flush. A 1.28 Gal. flush provides significant water savings of up to 16,500 Gal. per year, compared to a 3.5 Gal. toilet, without sacrificing performance.

  • Flush is activated by a no-touch sensor mounted inside the tank
  • Powered by 4 AA batteries (included)
  • 1-piece toilets integrate the tank and bowl into a seamless, easy-to-clean design
  • Compact elongated bowl offers added comfort while occupying the same space as a round-front bowl
  • Low-profile design
  • Comfort Height feature offers chair-height seating that makes sitting down and standing up easier for most adults
  • 1.28 GPF (gallons per flush)
  • Concealed trap-way and low-profile bolt caps facilitate easier cleaning and enhanced design
  • Includes K-4008 Grip-Tight Reveal Q3 seat
  • Supply line not included
  • Touchless module projects an electromagnetic field through the top of the tank lid that senses your hand, causing the toilet to flush
  • Single-flush gravity uses the force of gravity and a precision-engineered tank, bowl, and trap-way to create a strong siphon during flushing
  • AquaPiston canister allows water to flow into the bowl from all sides (360°), increasing the power and effectiveness of the flush
  • Flush valve's 3:2 ratio harnesses the natural force of gravity and optimizes flush performance
  • Durable canister design has 90% less exposed seal material than a 3 in. flapper, for leak-free performance
  • Light-touch canister flush requires a lower actuation force than a flapper
  • Touchless only adds 3 simple steps to installation
  • Features to consider when buying a toilet
  • DryLock system saves installation time and helps prevent water leakage

It truly is sleek and beautiful as much as a toilet can be. However, all of that fades as soon as you realize that the sensor flush mechanism is a total piece of garbage. I have had this toilet a little less than a year. At the 4 month mark the sensor failed so Kohler sent me a replacement. I'm now at the 10 month mark and the sensor has completely failed again so for the last two days I have been trying to call Kohler's customer support phone line only to repeatedly hear the same recorded message alerting to me high call volume and suggesting I find my answer on and then hanging up on me....yes that's right...the phone system will not allow you to hold for a representative it simply hangs up on you. Nice customer service this what we consumers pay a premium price for or is that for your outstanding quality...well please excuse me for saying so but in my case you failed miserably on both points!!! So now I'm stuck with a $700 toilet that doesn't work and being forced to repeatedly call Kohler's customer care line hoping to catch them at a time when someone is free to take my call since the phone system will not allow me to hold until a representative becomes available. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE MODEL!!! MY ADVICE IS TO NOT ONLY RUN FROM THIS TOILET BUT ALSO RUN FROM KOHLER if this is how they are going to treat their customers. Shame on you Kohler!!!

We purchased two of them and have had them about two months. The touchless feature is more sanitary, however, I am not sure that it is worth the extra money. It is very sensitive to flush. You need to pass your hand within an inch of the sensor, not just wave over the top of it. IMHO for this amount of money the SSTC should come with a soft-closing lid but it did not. Purchased two American Standard soft-closing lids because they were the best fitting and best looking. Butt overall it's nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love our Modern Kohler Toilet LOVE THIS TOILET, most especially the low modern design of it. It looks awesome in our modern bathroom. We liked the first one we bought so much we bought a second for our guest bathroom also. My husband who is a handyman didn't have any problems installing either of them and they both work great. Only drawback is the hand activation mechanism flushes the toilet when wiping the top of the toilet clean. So that wastes water. Maybe there is a way around it that I don't know of. If not, then I probably would prefer the handle over the hand activated. Love the quality, modern design and the price is higher than average but worth it. Thank you for a great product Kohler!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage - Electronic Portion Fails Within 60 Days Hi, I purchased the K-4000 two months ago and now it will not flush except for taking the lid off and flushing it manually. Before the batteries ran-out of power, the toilet flushed on its own - without human intervention. I changed the batteries twice and now the toilet will not flush at all. There is nothing on the tank lid such as tissue boxes, wet wipes or decorations that can cause the sensor to activate. The chain attached is devoid of any slack. There are no metallic or damp items within 10" of the sensor. Steam is not present when the unit activates and venting in the room excellent. The touchless module or tank lid is NOT wet and there is NO condensation causing the sensor to activate. I'm saddened, troubled and disappointed that an expensive toilet could fail so quickly and hope Kohley will rectify the situation immediately. Thank you.

The toilet seat creaks when you sit on it. Very cheap. KOHLER is supposed to be a good name. NOT!!!!! I need two more toilets for my present remodel. They will NOT be KOHLER products!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs work Kohler Nice looking toilet. Took 3 attempts to install, the fancy bolt set up moved twice before I got both lined up properly. Worked nicely at first until moisture trapped under the tank lid starts to cause unnecessary flushing. Kohler took a few weeks to send a fix kit which is basically a foam pad. It worked for a few days and now we are back to ghost flushing running up my water bill. The underside of the tank lid is dripping wet and I am wondering how long before I have mold growing under there. I am a Kohler fan when it comes to sinks and engines but for $700 I am disappointed in this toilet and we are thinking of taking it back to HD.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Disappointed It's been almost a year since I bought this toilet and it has been my worse purchase for the price paid (value vs. money). The touchless system worked fine for maybe a little over a month and then it started flushing continuously by itself, non stop. We removed the kit, replaced batteries, put it back and same issues. We tried removing the kit for a day or so and after putting back on it would work well for a few days and same problems would start again until it stopped working. We had to wait a long time for a new kit from Kohler and the new system worked fine for about 2 months just to start with the same issues as the previous one.
