does this toilet sweat?
Asked by: don
Hello, my name is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I would like to address your question. Toilets themselves are not “prone” to sweating but rather the environment they are installed in can cause them to sweat. If you are in a home and your current toilet sweats, it is likely any replacement toilet would also sweat. If this is the case, we suggest choosing a toilet with insuliner. Thank you for choosing The Bold Look of KOHLER.

If Kohler says there's no difference between K3810 and K10491 "Santa Rosa" models, Why is there a difference in the MaP ratings? 800 vs 500?

Asked by: TadTV
Per Home Depot Specs: the K-10491-0 Trapway is 2.5" and the K-3810-96 Trapway is 2.125". Either somebody wrote the specs wrong or the MAP score is BS. Not sure how you could achieve the same MAP score with a difference in the Trapway opening.

Santa Rosa Comfort Height 1-piece 1.28 GPF Single Flush Compact Elongated Toilet with AquaPiston Flush in Biscuit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 589.

I does have a strong flush with the AquaPiston. I think the strong flush helps keep it clean because I hardly ever have to clean it! Not happy with the noisy flush. Need another toilet for a half bath right off the living room/dining room area. Reluctant because of the noise but think I will go with this one again. Overall good product for the price. Was considering Toto but then found out about the Sana gloss and don't want that as we have hard water and it would be too difficult to clean.

Purchased this model specifically because of the low profile, and this was the only low one we could find under about $500. We've had it just over one month and had to use a plunger twice. Problem is, the shape of opening doesn't work with a standard plunger. Our old toilet, 27 year old, builder installed, never had this kind of problem. Equally disturbing is that it doesn't really clean out with a single flush. So much for saving water. AND, we noticed what looked like blue paint floating around and sticking to the sides of the bowl! We contacted Kohler and they explained that ours was one of the 'random test' models that they spray a blue 'paint like' material into the tank, and it would eventually go away. Sure enough, over a month later and it is going away. We purchased this from Home Depot because it was at least $50 less than other places. Maybe they get all of the test models? I do NOT recommend the Santa Rosa.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort height, elongated, yet compact I love this new toilet. It looks smaller than our old round seat, standard height, separate tank toilet. Very sleek looking with the tank being part of the toilet (rather than screwed on separately). The comfort height is on the lower end of comfort height toilets, but still noticeable. No problems clogging when flushing. Was so pleased with this toilet, I ordered two more!! Not the the top of the tank is quite a bit smalle than a regular toilet, so if you are accustomed to storing or putting a storage basket in the tank, beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Decent Toilet So Far....... Toilet installed fairly easy, used the Everbilt reinforced wax ring. No issues with flushing so far, it flushes fast. A big plus is the comfort height, much more ergonomic. The seat is cheap but I knew this when purchasing. I plan to upgrade the seat later. The Home Depot folks in Merced, CA were great to work with. Special thanks to Kenneth.

I read all the reviews and decided this would be a good choice, and took the extra step in the decision to choose the water smart model. When the plumber installed it, he referred to it as a "urinal" and made me a bit nervous. I must say it seems impossible to flush properly and completely with so little water, but it is AMAZING. We've only had it for a couple of weeks, but the comfort height is life changing, and made me wish we had originally installed all of our toilets in this height. So much easier on your legs and for comfort., regardless of your height. but necessary as you age. We'll probably be changing all of the remaining bathrooms to this height. and model. Also, the two gentlemen from Home Depot that delivered it to us were wonderful and accommodating. Home Depot rocks!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, works great I bought this when remodeling our bathroom to replace our old high flow toilet. I was leery of the low flush having heard they don't work as well over the years. I was shocked at how well this thing works and how little water it uses, it works way better than my old one. My wife likes the stylish one piece look and the comfort height. I'm remodeling our other bathroom now and will be installing another Kohler Santa Rosa.

It has powerful flushing with little water. It is a great toilet by design and function, but unfortunately, porcelain coating quality drags down the rating. I bought four toilets. Two are fine and two have imperfect porcelain coating. One has a small grey spot on top of bowl, oh well, I decided to keep it. The other has two long grey hairlines on top of bowl, too obvious to ignore and I decided to exchange. One lid has uneven coating and looks weird. For a toilet with price tag @$300, this is unacceptable. Kohler should 1) improve porcelain coating process, and 2) rinse off dust/debris before reaching their quality control, so the ones with cosmetic deficiency can be caught. I am very happy with Kohler customer service and Home Depot customer service. Both are very responsive. Home Depot customer support scheduled a shipping company to pick up the bad one from my house, and placed a replacement toilet to deliver to my house in two days. Therefore, I still recommend this toilet - do check your new toilet thoroughly right after delivery.
