Love this toilet and its matching sink. Highly recommend. The warm color blended beautifully with the earthy /spa look that I was aiming for in my powder room. Wouldn't ever use a cheap quality toilet when gallons of water and flooding issues are at stake (learned that lesson the hard way ).

This toilet purchase began a long saga that has finally been partially resolved by the Kohler people acknowledging a problem and presenting a compromise by "gifting" an accessory.
We went to Home Depot to buy a nice one-piece toilet. We chose a Kohler toilet that was priced at under $250 in white expecting quality at a reasonable price. I also hoped to get a 10% bonus as a veteran, as Home depot advertises. We found that the Kohler toilet would cost us a FULL $200 MORE for a biscuit color to match the new tile in our remodeled bathroom. AND, because that color change (even at its premium price) would be considered a "special order," the 10% veteran’s discount did NOT apply. We decided to make the $450 purchase anyhow because we were late in our remodel and needed the toilet, despite the two weeks Home depot required to fill the order. Then, when the toilet arrived, we were surprised and disappointed again to find that 1. there were no instructions for adjustment and trouble-shooting of the filler/flush valve that was malfunctioning and 2. that even with the premium price paid for a supposedly high-end toilet, the toilet seat is NOT a quiet-close as one would expect (I admit I did not read the specs closely enough).
On further examination, I and my plumber/installation contractor discovered that the lower gasket was installed at the factory incorrectly, deforming it and allowing water to continuously leak back into the toilet. He figured out how to remove the mechanism (without any help available from an online Kohler support document or instruction manual) and reseat the gasket. This slowed the leak to very rare “gulp” sound that I cannot translate. But it seems to be happening with less frequency, so we may be alright on that score.
Appealing to Kohler resulted in two representatives offering disingenuous compensation until I found a third rep who actually offered something to make me feel compensated for our trouble. In the end, I am satisfied, but generally disappointed with this experience with two large and well-known companies (Home Depot and Kohler). I would have expected better faster, and Home depot has yet to offer any steps toward resolution. Next time I believe I will try their competitors.

Beautiful toilet. Really like the low flush water conservation even though it takes getting used to the short flush time. Has great power in the flush. Didn't like having to pay and extra $100 just to get the Biscuit color vs white.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bob Second One I have Purchased - A GREAT Toilet
I purchased this toilet a couple years ago for my condo in Hawaii that was having flushing challenges. It has worked great with no problems since installing it. The toilet in the bisque color is a little expensive but it goes very well in a bathroom that has any shade of light brown tile.

4 out of 4 biscuit-colored toilets exhibited manufacturing flaws which are not exhibited by the white version of the same model. Since the Biscuit colored toilets cost $160 more per toilet than the white toilet, it was super-disappointing. These quality problems cannot be blamed on Home Depot; the problem rests squarely upon Kohler's shoulders. The old rule of thumb "Kohler is worth the extra price because you're getting Kohler Quality" is a myth - consider other toilet brands before you consider Kohler.

It was time to replace our 39 year old 3.5 gallon per flush Kohler toilet, which was still functioning just fine. I researched toilets online and found this one piece, elongated bowl, which doesn't take up any more room than a round bowl, in many different colors. I ordered the toilet online, it arrived at our local Home Depot sooner than expected, I picked it up and installed it the next day. We have a septic system, this unit uses 1.23 gallons per flush, and being a one piece unit it has a sleek design. Also it is a comfort height toilet.
