does this toilet sweat?

does this toilet sweat?
Asked by: don
Hello, my name is Sarah with Kohler Customer Service. I would like to address your question. Toilets themselves are not “prone” to sweating but rather the environment they are installed in can cause them to sweat. If you are in a home and your current toilet sweats, it is likely any replacement toilet would also sweat. If this is the case, we suggest choosing a toilet with insuliner. Thank you for choosing The Bold Look of KOHLER.

If Kohler says there's no difference between K3810 and K10491 "Santa Rosa" models, Why is there a difference in the MaP ratings? 800 vs 500?

Asked by: TadTV
Per Home Depot Specs: the K-10491-0 Trapway is 2.5" and the K-3810-96 Trapway is 2.125". Either somebody wrote the specs wrong or the MAP score is BS. Not sure how you could achieve the same MAP score with a difference in the Trapway opening.

Does this toilet come with flush mechanism factory inspected and ready to install

The installation guide here and what I received with toilet only describes attaching the seat. This led me to believe that everything else is factory set. I purchased this toilet and had a plumber install it. It worked fine while he checked it and then would not fill. When I looked in the tank I saw that the refill tube is touching the float screw. I called Kohler and Tech Service told me how to make adjustments. With Tech service on the phone I got the system to work, but did not feel convinced it was fixed. The lady assured me it was. Now I have the opposite problem, the flush keep filling unless I open the tank and push the refill tube away from the float screw. The orientation of the parts inside are all wrong. Even Tech Service said that the clearance is ever so little. Anyone have this kind of problem? Did you have to turn the parts to orient correctly. Should I return the toilet?
Asked by: SecondThoughts
Everything but the seat is already installed.

Santa Rosa Comfort Height 1-piece 1.28 GPF Single Flush Compact Elongated Toilet with AquaPiston Flush in Ice Grey is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 470.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great, works great I bought this when remodeling our bathroom to replace our old high flow toilet. I was leery of the low flush having heard they don't work as well over the years. I was shocked at how well this thing works and how little water it uses, it works way better than my old one. My wife likes the stylish one piece look and the comfort height. I'm remodeling our other bathroom now and will be installing another Kohler Santa Rosa.

They all work quietly, reliably and very well. We have yet to replace any parts in any of them since the 1st one we bought in 2011.

It took three try's to get one shipped in by Home depot that wasn't broken before it got to me but it was worth the wait. It flushes well and we haven't noticed it leaving behind any unnecessary debris like other reviews have warned of. It fits our bathroom space well. My wife is pretty short and she loves it. Beware it doesn't come with a wax ring like others do and it may fit snugly in the space used by your old toilet. You may also want to think about buying a higher quality toilet seat than the one include. Minimum assembly required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort height, elongated, yet compact I love this new toilet. It looks smaller than our old round seat, standard height, separate tank toilet. Very sleek looking with the tank being part of the toilet (rather than screwed on separately). The comfort height is on the lower end of comfort height toilets, but still noticeable. No problems clogging when flushing. Was so pleased with this toilet, I ordered two more!! Not the the top of the tank is quite a bit smalle than a regular toilet, so if you are accustomed to storing or putting a storage basket in the tank, beware.

Because of the design of the bottom of the bowl you CAN NOT use a plunger on them. Any plunger available will not make a seal on the bottom of the bowl and therefore is basically useless. So unless you go #2 in little pellets like a rabbit I advise you buy a different brand toilet that you can plunge when it gets stopped up.

The base is slightly warped and there are two scuff marks on the tank top as if metal was rubbing against it while being shipped. The idea was paying a lot more for a reputable brand and model would reduce the chance of disappointment but it backfired. I should have selected another box when I noticed it had extra staple holes as if someone returned it and then it was repackaged for the next victim. Maybe this model has bad quality control or I just got unlucky which seems to happen a lot when shopping at the big box stores.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what the brand was Selected this toilet because purchased 2 many years ago and the older purchases were great. Recently purchased this same toilet. Plumber had to put in a new flapper because the brand new one with the brand new toilet was defective and toilet kept running. Koehler not quality like in the past. Have 2 stars for design. Will not be purchasing this brand again.
