Customer Questions & Answers

So, the water stays running until you activate the sensor to turn it off?

To allow a pan to fill, for instance, you can activate the sensor, walk away and come back a minute later and activate the sensor to turn off the water flow?
Asked by: Jackjenson
It will turn off after 3 or 4 minutes if you use the sensor to start the water flow. I believe that if you use the handle instead, it will run indefinitely.

Can the faucet turn on without using the censors? Can the handle on the side be used like a traditional faucet?

Hi, I was wondering if there is a "non-touchless" option built into this faucet. For example, can you use the side handle to turn on the water and keep the water running consistently for an extended amount of time. I'd rather not have to wave at the sensor every couple of seconds to keep the water running when I am doing an activity that requires the water to be on for awhile. For example, if I am filling a big pot of water, then I would like to be able to leave the pot and let if fill while I head to the other side of my kitchen. Hope that makes sense. Thanks!

Yes, you can bypass the sensor by simply turning off the handle, then turning it back on again. The water will run until you activate the motion sensor which shuts it off.

I'm confused…in the specs. it says handle not included. In the question before mine, you said the handle comes attached on the right side. Thanks

Asked by: Silly
Mine came with a handle!

Doesc the faucet come with any adapter plate for an existing 3 hole sink

We have an existing sink with the 3 holes - hot / cold / faucet. There is also a right side hole for the sprayer but this I can place a cap on it.
Asked by: Bobby
NO, you have to buy that item separately.

Sensate AC-Powered Touchless Kitchen Faucet in Polished Chrome with DockNetik and Sweep Spray is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Happy We've been using this faucet for about a month. The installation was straightforward, easy to understand and accomplish. We actually lost the little lubricant vial for one of the connections so I called Kohler customer service; they promptly and cheerfully mailed me a new vial of lubricant at no charge. This faucet is made well, with sturdy materials of construction. We'll see if any solenoid problems develop over time, but for now it works great and we love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Excellent but you can't get VERY HOT water from this faucet Great features on an easy to use faucet. Fantastic that it works manually with or without electricity. But evidently has a serious design flaw if you want to use VERY HOT water for any kitchen task. Our Sensate can produce warm to hot water but never produces water as hot as that comes out of our five other faucets elsewhere in the house. So it's not our hot water heater setting. We also checked to make sure the input valves are open all the way to the Sensate. On email contact with Kohler, they replied that there is no way available to adjust the temperature flow. So guess it''s designed to prevent scalding but offers no way to override the setting when there are only responsible adults using the faucet who want very hot water.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It took both an electrician and a plumber to install,... It took both an electrician and a plumber to install, but the coordination of services was well worth the wait. This is truly an amazing faucet. I was worried that the sensor would be like those annoying public restroom sensors. Fear not, the sensor is extremely responsive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AMAZING Faucet! Expensive but worth it if you want a touchless faucet. The ability to control the flow and water temp with the handle is priceless as compared to the Moen with preset temp and flow. Plus the flow from the faucet in standard mode (not using touchless sensor) is the same as with a normal faucet (Moen has very low flow when not using the sensor). Easy installation, good instructions and it looks amazing. Finish is perfect, touchless sensor is not too sensitive (no false starts) and having the single sensor under the neck is great and intuitive. I did a lot of research before I talked my wife and myself into this more expensive faucet; but this was definitely the right choice!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great for 1 year on the dot then that's all. I loved this faucet for exactly 1 year. After that, the automatic feature starts to give out. The led light goes out for a few days, you switch to manual override and then it came back on for 2 months all by itself. After that it has gone out again. Kohler has no support on its website to trouble shoot this except in the manual trouble shooting and it is likely that the circuit board has gone bad. Not a huge issue to replace but for the price of this faucet that to have a cheap circuit board go out after a year that is not a good sign. I hope Kohler is prompt in replacing it. Also, the warranty would not cover the labor costs so I hope anybody who buys this can do it themselves.
