Answer:
Yes the faucet can be installed on granite. You don't need the faceplate to mount the fixture. Just be sure that the surface of the granite is clean and there is a gasket between the fixture and granite. I have the same installation and haven't had any problems with the faucet or leakage since I installed it over two years ago.

Yes, mine is mounted on a granite counter. The faucet I purchased came with a face plate. This is for people who are trying to cover up extra holes. If you don't need to cover up extra holes then you can install the faucet without the faceplate, which is what I did. And it looks great!

It can be mounted through granite. It is great because we only needed to drill one hole. Not sure about the faceplate.

Thank you for your inquiry. Installation would depend on your countertop thickness, which can be a maximum of 2-1/2" thick, unless you get part 1012715, which is a deep rough-in kit that provides an additional 2" assembly depth. This faucet has a 10-1/2" escutcheon plate for three-holes, or you can install it without the plate for a single-hole installation.

There is a deck plate that comes with the faucet. The deck plate is used if you have a 3-hole sink, and is held down using plumber putty and the faucet bolt. The deck plate is stainless steel, low profile, and attractive, in my opinion.

You can install this faucet but you will need the faceplate that will cover the hot and cold water holes. The fourth hole will require a plug to cover this. There are plugs for this purpose available at hardware stores or plumbing outlets.

The faucet comes with an optional deck mount to cover up extra holes. There is a trim piece that comes with this faucet that covers-up two additional holes. So it is designed for a 1-hole or 3-hole sink. The fourth hole you will have to cover with a blank cover, buy a soap dispenser, or get a different model faucet that comes with a coordinating soap dispenser.

If there is a whole in the center for the faucet head, the deckplate that is included should cover the other holes. If you still want a soap dispenser, then I don't think this faucet will work for you. It may be possible to get hole covers at home depot that will cover the individual holes in the deckplate is not what you want.

There should be an optional deck mount included with the faucet that you can use to cover the extra hole. Just get the measurements first to be sure it is big enough to cover the hole.

The "pipe for the spray" is really a hose that is connected to the water supply pipes via the faucet so it goes away when you remove the old faucet. You will have a hole in your sink that you will have to fill with a blank, or buy a similar faucet that comes with a coordinating soap dispenser. Hope that helps.

Hello incs, I’m Newf from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question.
Yes, you can install this faucet into the same hole.
The additional hole which had the sprayer could either be used for a soap dispenser, hot water or filtered water system, or capped off with a decorative cap. The original pipe/hose for the old sprayer would be discarded.
I hope this helps,
Newf.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Kohler faucet for Kitchen Stylish, functional faucet with excellent features of a pull down head, and the ability to toggle between full flow and spray. Its functionality would be increased further if its "pause" button were on a toggle v. having to hold it manually. It looks good and we will see how it lasts. I bought it because of its reputed quality and their seems to be a premium charge for that. I am enjoying using it. May 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk After installing this no water came out. Kohler express shipped a new cartridge, but the allen screw was most likely installed with lock tight. I was unable to remove the handle and install the cartridge. Quality control is not high on the list. We returned and bought a Moen....This kohler faucet was junk! and wasted several hours of my time. September 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this faucet Love the looks and functionality of this faucet. Nice high arch design. Love the pull-down nozzle and magnetic feature that keeps nozzle securely locked in place. Love the ability to choose stream or sprayer and just the solid feel of starting/stopping the flow of water, must be because of the ceramic valves. Placed the lever centered in front (see image) for easy access no matter which hand is used. All in all very happy with this faucet. February 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tall "arch" on faucet means lots of space for washing pots! Had a plumber install, and went easy enough. LOVE the size and shape of this faucet. I have had friends warn me to get one with a high arch, as lower arches can make it hard to wash large pots/pans. This one is fabulous. I'm a lefty, and its easy to reach "under the faucet" to turn on the water while holding a pan. The multi-spray options are great. We've had it installed about a month now, and after spending about 3 weeks researching faucets and "visiting faucets in person" I am so glad we landed on this one. It a very heavy weight, so feels sturdy, but so easy to just pull the cord and have it spray the whole sink. Love it! December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this faucet This looks great in my kitchen. Husband said it was very easy to install, quick installation. Wasn't sure if the fan spray claim was just a gimmick or not however, now that I have it, it does work much better that the traditional round spray when runsing down sink. The fact that the claim was not exaggerated is a pleasant surprise. Finish does not show prints and water marks easily. Pulls out with good 360 swivel in spray. When docked spray head does not sag out. Can rotate faucet from side to side. I recommend, and would, should need ever arise, purchase again. This is a beautiful fixture. May 17, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific purchase! I purchased this faucet in chrome and installed it myself. It works beautifully and I am very pleased with the functions and ease of use. I did have to call the customer service line to find out which way the collar with o-ring was to be inserted, as the illustrations and instructions were void of info on the correct position. Mine was a single hole installation. I ended up not using the piece, as it raised the based of the faucet up too high, causing a gap between the sink surface and faucet base. There are no leaks, so that part was not necessary. I also learned from the customer service person that plumbers putty (the instructions say to use stainless plumber's putty) is NOT needed for the single hole installation. One warning: I purchased this faucet 3 times! The first 2 were scratched upon arrival in the box.The faucet is not covered in plastic inside the box. I had one shipped to my home and one to the store. I refused delivery of both. The 3rd was fine. I also had more than enough length with the supply lines provided. The faucet looks and works perfectly. One strange thing: if you want the handle on the right, the "Koehler" inscription will be on the back side of the faucet. But the faucet is perfect for a double sink, as it moves easily. I also like the design, which moves from a position well above the base. My prior faucet moved at the base, and the rubber ring at the base caused it to stiffen over time, probably due to the cleaning products it was exposed to. It became too hard to move from one sink to the other. This faucet makes filling tall pots easy and cleaning bigger items far easier. I can highly recommend this product. July 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent product This faucet was just installed in my new granite countertop. It looks beautiful and the color of the stainless steel matches all of the appliances. I love the pull down sprayer with Sweep Spray and the pause button is very useful for filling pots on the counter. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Major Headaches I started off super excited about this faucet and by the time I was done, I pretty much hated Kohler. I received the faucet and installed in pretty quickly. When I turned on the water, I had hot water but no cold water. I checked everything and nothing was wrong. I looked online and couldn't find anything to help. So I decided to order another one. I received the second faucet and installed it very quickly again. I turned on the water and the same thing happened. Hot water but no cold water. I did more research online and saw another buyers review. He had the exact same problem and found out it was the check valve in the line. I replaced the $2 check valve and now the faucet works great. I expected a better product from Kohler. May 7, 2016
