  • Flush is activated by a no-touch sensor mounted inside the tank
  • Powered by 4 AA batteries (included)
  • Works with most canister and flapper toilets
  • Not compatible with dual-flush, top-mount flush, pressure-assist, or ballcock valve toilets
  • Simple installation taking most people less than 20 minutes
  • Trip lever hole cover included
  • Optional hand indicator decal included (indicates where the touchless module is located inside of tank)
  • Touchless flush kit comes complete with: touchless module with sensor, all mounting hardware, battery pack, 4 AA batteries, trip lever hole cover, flush emblem for tank lid (use is optional), and an installation and care guide

Question for those hat have had the unit more than a month

Just curious how many folks are experiencing the phantom flushing described in many of the reviews. I had a unit installed in April and by May it started the phantom flushing. Tried various "fixes" including operation without the toilet lid on and replacing batteries to no avail. If you've had the unit less than a month, you won't know if you'll have the problem, so no need to reply.

The phantom flush came from the first day (Alabama humidity). I did get the foam aftermarket and it helped with the flush issue. NOW THE WHOLE THING IS DEAD AND KOHLER SERVICE # DOES NOT CONNECT THROUGH. Terrible product and a really dumb idea, I guess I bought it too. I only purchased it to help get my toddler to flush.

Can I leave the tank lever installed in case the batteries run out?

Asked by: james
No. You can replace the batteries. But I held on to the lever in case the kit ever stops working.

Batteries in the Kohler Touchless Toilet

I replaced the batteries with Duracell Copper Top batteries because the toilet kept flushing. Now when I place my hand over the toilet it does not flush. I have to actually touch the toilet for it to flush. What other problem could be causing this to happen?
Asked by: courious
Did any water splash up into the battery area? Try removing it and using a hair dryer to dry it out and then try it again.

I bought the whole toilet with the touchless mechanism built in. I have had it for about 9 months. After about 3 months, it started flushing by itself. Through out the day, at night, randomly, sometime several times in sequence. Really annoying, since the toilet is in our master bedroom. Wastes a lot of water, and because I have a water softener, have had to fill up salt more often too. Since it was a complete toilet with this mechanism, I could not convert to manual flushing. I am living with the top off, and pulling the chain from inside to flush! Waiting for a reply from Kohler.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the trouble I thought this touchless toilet would be great with kids, etc. but it has been nothing but trouble. We have had dozens of "mystery" flushes! No one in the bathroom and "swoosh"! I have had to replace this battery pack with Kohler 3 times now. Now Kohler is saying that 2 of the parts in the battery pack need to be replaced due to some fault in them. And it takes a long time to get the new parts. Not pleased to say the least. AND, to top it off, I bought the whole toilet, which has a tank with no hole to put in a regular type flushing handle. I would not recommend this product at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the touchless experience The touch-less kit is a breeze to install. Any DIYer can mount it easily. It does not require any plumbing skills, I followed the installation instructions and everything worked out just fine. All it does is spins the kit’s wheel assembly one time when it senses a movement above the sensor area. Due to its spinning motion, the chain lifts the flapper and that triggers the flush. So, the whole purpose of it is to engage the flapper assembly much like when you press the handle and the chain lifts the flapper. If your toilet flapper empties out the entire tank on each flush, it will still do that. Only difference? It will do that with motion detection. I had been using a toilet tank that actually came with the similar kit pre-installed. It had worked really well for 8+ months and then one day it started triggering the flush without someone triggering it. So, I installed this kit as a replacement to my original and so far it is working fine. I talked to Kohler about it and the company suggests that it could happen if moisture is trapped in the battery housing. I analyzed the old battery housing and I believe it to be the case. 2nd, I have noticed that the sensing area range shrinks as the kit becomes older. When it was new, it could sense my hand from 6-7 inches away. As it became older, it could sense only when the hand was within 3-4 inches range. But still, I am not touching any surface and the experience is still touch-less. In my overall experience, touch-less experience is priceless and I love the product, love the brand, Kohler customer service is prompt and does her best to resolve if any issues arise and for that I recommend it.

I installed this in a supposedly non-compatible low profile Eljer one-piece, with a float ball type valve and a shaped tank edge. I had to bend the mounting bracket wide open in order to get it to fit over the edge of the tank, and then put a block behind it to hold it in a vertical position. I also bent the bar for the float ball to allow clearance for the chain. I added a lock nut to the bar to prevent it from turning. I left the original flush handle in place so we always have that option. Be sure to cut the chains to the needed length. Extra chain links getting caught were the only functional issues I had. I wish the receiver was a little more sensitive because I almost have to touch the top of the tank to activate it sometimes. We have been using it for a little more than three weeks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not what I expedited After purchasing a Kohler toilet I had to purchase a replacement because the one that came with the toilet kept flushing on it's own. This was only after two years after purchasing the toilet with the touchless fit all ready installed. Once you install it be prepared to replace it every couple of years. Let me add once it goes you have to flush the toilet by take the top off and pull the chain or turn the motor by hand.

Eats batteries; tried rechargeable and regular. Also flushes on it's own and when the batteries get low it flush half way allowing the water to run continuously until you manually fix it. Worse part is this toilet does not have a manual flush mechanism even though the box and wording advertised as dual flush function. We are stuck with a piece of junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money !!! !!! !!! I like to stay up to date with technology but this technology evidently wasn't tested more than a few days. A week after I had this toilet installed it started flushing on its own. I called Koehler and they sent me replacement parts but the flushing problem continued. Now the flush arm will only move about an inch and will not flush. I wish I had not bought this toilet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We all love it The installation was simple. At first when I looked inside the box I thought I might struggle figuring out how to install it. But it turned out to be so simple I really didn't need the directions. I even used my old chain which made it even easier. My sister inlaw even got one because her husband is germaphobe. I did have to check where the 4 pads go and found out they stabilize the lid. I removed my handle and plugged the hole with the hole cover provided, my sister Inlaw left hers on. It even comes with 4 alkaline batteries which is a plus because many times you need to purchase them separate. I have pictures of my unit and my sister in laws so you can see the two different applications. I wouldn't have expected anything less from Kohler.
