I love new gadget but must admit that some are not very practical or useful. My wife is quick to let me know if a gadget is junk or a waste of money. I was quite surprised that she was very happy with this Kohler Touchless Toilet flush kit. Most people flush before they wash their hands. This kit eliminates the toilet lever which means one less area to spread germs.
Kohler includes everything you need including the batteries. Install took me all of 5 minutes tops. Just do yourself a favor put the lid on the floor where there is little chance of it breaking. The only issue I came across was that the device would not work after I placed the lid back on. After reading the directions, it clearly states to give it 5 minutes to adjust to the thickness of the lid. Since then, it has worked flawlessly.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CarterB Great innovation. Easy to install.
The "no touch" toilet kit is a great tech gadget for the home. It allows you to convert a standard toilet into a hands free model without having to replace the whole toilet.
Before installing the kit I had to replace the flush valve inside my particular toilet because it had the old ballcock style floater for the flapper. The Kohler kit won't have room to fit inside the tank with the ballcock in place but has plenty of room with current flush valves (it is incompatible with dual flush though)..
Installation is pretty straightforward. The online video makes it easy to understand and is better than the paper instructions. In my toilet, the sensor actually rests against the inside of the tank lid, which is ok. The great part is that the sensor detects your hand (or other object) through the lid without any need to alter the lid itself....no drilling, filing, screwing, etc. As you see in the pictures an adhesive medallion can be placed on top of the lid so people know where to "wave." If you want, the toilet's flush handle can be left in place too. I have had no issues whatsoever with the actual flushing mechanism itself. The flapper opens and closes as it should. There is a built in 10 second delay between allowable flushes.
I've already had multiple compliments and of course the kids love it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Andy Avoid the Continual Headache
I purchased 3 Kohler Cimarron Touchless toilets. There is never a time that all 3 toilets are working. The touchless technology is neat when it works. Too often it is flushing on its own, not flushing at all, requires continual battery replacement, and one of them stopped working all together. Now I have a toilet that has no handle and won't flush unless I buy another touchless toilet flush kit. Home Depot and Kohler won't help you out after 90 days. I don't know how they can sell a major appliance like a toilet and not have any accountability after 90 days. A toilet is supposed to work longer than that. Avoid the headache, don't buy it.

I would recommend this Touchless Toilet Flush Kit. I was very excited to try this product, I do worry about germs and germs on the toilet are the worse. So glad they came out with this product and made it available to fit most toilets. It was simple to install, I put it together with my young son. simple easy to follow instructions. All parts are included in the package, even the batteries. Very hygienic flush system. You just wave your hand about an inch over the toilet lid and it flushes with ease. I also like the look of it, very clean looking. You will just need to replace the 4-AA batteries as needed. I am going to purchase one for my other toilet. You will not be disappointed with this product. Enjoy clean flushing.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by mELLO Water Waster- Randomly Flushes
I bought 3 of these for my home and initially all three worked. After about a week I noticed that one began to flush randomly even with the lid off. I took it back, replaced it and that toilet worked fine but then the same thing started happening in another bathroom. I took it all apart and re-installed it and the same result. I thought based on the trouble shooting guide that the motor was too close to the sensor but even when the lid is completely off and I am standing there watching it, the unit just flushes and flushes over and over wasting water. I m now trying to decide if I should wait until another one begins to have this issue and give up or just replace the inoperable one. The installation was a breeze, 10 minutes tops.

Installed two of these in my home; one on a Kohler and one on a Cadet. They both worked great for about two weeks. Then they started to not fully flush. They would raise the flapper but then not allow it to reseal allowing water to drip. I replaced the batteries and removed and reinstalled the units. No luck. Eventually the actuator arm would move just an inch and then stop. It seems the motor unit just lost its ability to power through the flush cycle. I'm taking them out and reverting back to the flush handles.

This thing is a germaphobes dream. It was very easy to install and works great. The batteries aren't going to last long the first time around because the kids have to show EVERYONE how it works.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by CASPER It has a mind of its own
Installed with few issues, and it worked sell for 3 weeks; thereafter it randomly activated and flushed on its own, with or without the lid on. Eventually after a few days I I had to take the batteries out. I now know what it feels like to live with a ghost!
