This is exactly the toilet we wanted, replacing our late '80s 3.5 gallons per flush water waster. This Kohler flushes in a second, completely and quietly, all unlike the ancient john it replaced.
Installation was easy (but dealing with 30 years' toilet funk was not pleasant at all) and the new flushing hardware in the tank seems very high quality that won't have to be replaced for many, many years.
Problem is, there was a hairline crack on the top of the bowl when it came out of the box. We are talking with Kohler about it and expect them to make good their 1 year warranty by sending us a replacement.

I will start by saying this, 1.28 GPF is about as low as you can go and expect the toilet to get rid of everything.
That being said, you really don't have much choice anymore.
I was replacing a 31 year old Kohler of the same basic design that had a broken tank.
It is quite a change going from 3.5 GPF to 1.28 GPF.
This Kohler was an easy install for a DIY'er.
The color matched the rest of the bathroom.
The quality if fine.
I ordered this particular model because it is used in a half bath in the entry of the home.
The lower seat height is perfect for all ages.
I wish that the bowl had a little higher water level.
I wish that you got a little more than a 1.28 GPF.
It does work however.
Have had this in use now for a month.
So far no problems.
It is very quiet and refills very quickly.
Even if your were to have to flush twice, you will still be using less water than the older 3.5 GPF model.
Are there better choices out there, probably.
But, for the price paid ($286 for Almond) this was a good deal for me.
I would recommend that if buying this product you have it shipped to your local HD store and not directly to your home.
Shipping to store is free.
The first 2 that arrived, arrived in many broken/shattered pieces.
Third time was a charm.
The shipping time was one week each time due to the reorder and reshipping after the broken arrivals.
Can't really blame HD for that, as they were shipped via UPS.
The packing should be much better, but that is a Kohler problem.
Good luck if you choose this model, it will be fine!

It is an excellent toilet you could possibly get for the price( You could get $175 rebates for this unit). Very efficient, quiet and stylish toilet. Easy installation. I will give it a full recommendation.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by skip I installed for customer and when I got a call saying the toilet was running I went back found nothing wrong but the customer said that they heard it run about every 1/2 hour, sure enough it started to run while I waited for it. I checked everything again and found nothing wrong. I adusted the water valve just a bit in hopes that that would solve the problem, it did not. Today I stopped and picked up a Kohlar gasket and put that in. So far I have not heard from the customer. My hpe is that I will not!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pinky The first toilet had a chip on the bowl after waiting for the factory to start a new run of black toilets. The second toilet was in perfect shape and went in without a hitch. When we turned on the water it came right up to the line, and it works perfectly!

Purchased as a special order. It was left in the box until plumber arrived to install (I was not present for the unboxing). When I arrived home, the toilet was installed but had a large crack in the base of the toilet. I contacted the plumber (whom I've known for many years and who has worked on my home and many client's homes) and asked about it - he indicated that there was no crack there when he left the house. I texted him a photo and he said that, yes, that would be problem. Also, the tank appeared to lean forward towards the bowl at an awkward angle. The plumber also noted that bolts were missing from the packaging and the decorative bolt caps were also missing (maybe a return item?). While he may have overtightened the bolts, he indicated that he's never cracked a toilet in 30 years by over-tightening, so it may have been a defect. I had him install a new toilet and trashed the new toilet that had just been installed, as I had no way of knowing if it was s defect or faulty installation.

First ever installation of a toilet. It went smoothly and Home Depot staff were helpful in my getting the right tools and product to effectively do the installation.
Very pleased with results.
