From the moment you open the box, you're aware that this company has completely thought through the process of packaging a sink. Inside the box is a thick cloth bag that protects the sink from scratches in transit. Inside that bag is your new 16 gauge (that's thick) stainless sink. The bag has a rope tie, like a laundry bag. The bag is HUGE and re-usable, although I haven't figured out what to use it for (way too big for a laundry bag). The sink, encased in the bag, is fully supported by foam blocks. Also in the box were more blocks, which held the boxes containing the "accessories". The "accessories" were an installation kit (containing heavy stainless rods and screws), 2 drain kits, grids for the bottom of the sink, extra rubber feet for the grids, and a terry cloth towel with Kraus stitched on it.
The included directions cover the installation of the undermount sink itself. There is a heavy cardboard template also included. The granite guys skipped using the cardboard, and took the measurements off the sink to cut the hole. The installation of the sink itself was quite easy and straightforward using the supplied hardware. The same could not be said for the drain kits. The straight drain ends in a 1.5" plastic pipe (tail piece). The drain with the basket ends in a fitting to which you are supposed to connect a straight piece of pipe (tail piece) you source yourself. Since my drain is 1.5", and the straight drain already came out as 1.5", you'd think that fitting on the basket side would be ready to take a 1.5" piece of pipe. This was not the case. They included a reducing washer in the bottom of the fitting that was set up for a 1.25" pipe. They did not include a washer for 1.5" pipe at all. It took me a few minutes to figure out what was going on, but eventually I discarded the reducing washer, used a 1.5" washer I had in the tool box, and as able to finish the installation of the drains. Overall, you'd think a company that goes to such lengths in packaging would have thought through such an obvious blunder and included a 25 cent 1.5" washer, but they didn't. Oh, one more thing...there were no directions included for the drain kits, and there are none on the company's web site either. While it might be "obvious" how drains are installed, it's really not, especially when one drain is set up for 1.5" pipe and the other is set up for 1.25" pipe.
The grids for the sink bottoms are beautifully made. My wife leaves them in the sink all the time due to the way they sparkle. The black terry cloth towel is still in its bag. The black color doesn't go with our decor.

Love the 60/40 design. I have no comment on installation since we had a plumber install it after our new granite counter tops were installed. The sinks do show water spots quite easily, so we are always wiping them dry after their use. I guess we were used to our previous sink (which was white) and hid the spots.
We no longer use the racks that sit on the bottom. It was a pain to remove them to clean the sink underneath. We use them if we think we may scratch the sink, but do not keep them always installed.

This is a beautiful sink! We installed it with our new counter tops. It is bigger than it looks. the smaller bowl is as big as the sink we replaced. The larger bowl has a cool basket for collecting food scraps to put in the compost. We decided to use the basket instead of installing the disposer from our old sink. Both sides can be easily closed to collect water. Each side comes with a removable bottom rack. What really impressed me was how easy it is to install. The drain hardware comes with rubber gaskets so you do not need plumber's putty. No leaks! The sink is wrapped in a cool black fabric bag, shipped in a sturdy box.

I decided to review and photo this item before installation so I could show the construction features. The stainless steel is a good thickness and has a beautiful finish. Both bowls are a good depth. The insulation is a thick rubbery material with extra material on the bottom. The strainers are heavy built, one is extra deep with a removable strainer basket. The stoppers have O-ring seals and are well made. Each bowl has a removable metal grid with protective feet.
In my opinion every aspect of this sink is very good quality, from the construction material to the finish to included accessories. It even comes with a heavy Kraus logo towel!!
I only wish I could give it 6 stars instead of 5!!

A beautiful, heavy duty sink. The price alone may make one question the quality, especially if you've recently shopped for stainless steel sinks at your local kitchen and bath retailers. The quality of this sink is by far and above superior to any sink , regardless of brand name, that I had looked at, at a fraction of the price. I love it!
