This tool is light-weight and comfortable. For straight cuts on thin metal (…say, up to 26 ga steel), it’s much easier to use and makes much smoother cuts than a cut-off tool with abrasive disks. I got my first one of these on Craig's List. It worked well for two jobs putting steel roofing and siding on sheds. Going length-wise is easy. Going across, you need to move the handle up and down, adjusting the angle of the cutters.
I was cutting 29 & 26 ga, and had no trouble until the end of the 2nd project, when a cutter blade broke – I didn't properly adjust the cutting angle. The tool doesn’t cost much, but replacement blades are pricey, my only complaint – thus 4 stars. I think it should come with a full set of replacement cutter parts, and the price of further replacement parts should be cut in half.
Someone needed the tool more than I did, I guess, and it vanished a year ago. Now I'm building a barn, and have to cut a lot of notches in the siding to go around the trusses, so I need another. I know there are better quality tools out there, but I don't want to spend 3 times the money. I don't think this tool would satisfy a pro who's cutting metal every day, but for a DIYer like me, it'll do fine.
As to Toby's 1-star rating, it's hard to know how to take it. He didn't describe the duct material he was cutting…likely 26 gauge. He didn't say what kind of seam he was trying to cut when the tool broke. If it was a flat seam, it would be two thicknesses, and would be a chore for this cutter, but it might work. if it was any kind of lock seam, it would be four layers to cut through, and would be impossible for this tool to cut. If it was a standing seam, I don't think any of the nipper-shears would have worked...he'd need a metal saw. So the rating may not be fair, since the tool wasn’t designed to go through several layers...but again, I don't really know what he was cutting.

I purchased this for a duct work project. It initially worked great and I was impressed with the speed and the quality of the cuts. Overall, it seems to be of good quality. During use, I was plowing ahead and came to a seam, and decided to keep going...the cutting blade broke clean off. That was the end...it's going back.
