Customer Questions & Answers

I have a dog that eats dirt and things out of the grass. Is this safe for him? Because of this we don't use poisons or

Fertilizers. Our yard needs help.
Asked by: Mamaw
All the ingredients are natural with no chemicals. While not harmful or poisonous, if your dog does ingest some of it, it’s possible it will make them sick, as none of the ingredients are compatible with a dog¹s digestive system. To minimize your pet’s attraction to the fertilizer, be sure to water the lawn thoroughly after applying. This will help break the fertilizer down quickly so it works its way into the soil – where it will do the most good. To be safe, consult your vet if you think your pet has consumed a significant amount.

Spreader settings?

There are a few listed on the bag, but some seem high (especially for drop spreader - "set at 20"?). I have a Scotts - pretty common type of spreader (Accu-3000.... or something 'technical' like that). Any suggestions on settings?
Asked by: McG
Thank you for purchasing our Kellogg Organic Plus Lawn Food! Because this product is organic, some of the pellets can be a little larger than others and the larger pellets may not pass through your spreader at the smaller settings. We recommend starting with the micrometer at 6 and rolling your spreader along the side walk or driveway. Move it up in one setting increments until the product is flowing smoothly through your spreader. Then sweep up the product that is on the concrete and you can now spread that on your lawn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only CA Organic certified soil I've tried everything on my lawns and not to say that other brands don't make a lawn look amazing but at what cost to my family's health? I have kids and pets and I want to know that what I am putting on my lawn won't be tracked into my house and contaminate my home as well. I use Kellogg branded products because I believe that this 80+ year old family owned business not only cares about the quality of their products but from my research have spent a lot of time and money making sure their products exceed OMRI and CA organic certifications requirements but care about the relationship with the community.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fertilizer This is a great fertilizer. I was renting a home and came with lawn service and the lawn guy used chemical lawn fertilizer on are lawn. It didn't do much as far as greenig up the lawn. I went to home depot and bought a bad of lawn fertilizer kellogg lawn food. I was told organic lawn fertilizer doesn't work well. WELL I disagree I applied kellogg lawn food to my lawn and about two weeks I had a very green lawn. If I could attack a photo to this message to prove it I would. I recently started picking up my own yards my self to start my own lawn service and on my business cards I advertise I use organic fertilizer and Kellogg is what I will be putting in my shopping cart from now on. Doesn't hurt to try it out you wont be disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Fertilizer Excellent contents, glad to be able to get it through Home Depot. My only dissatisfaction is that the long stubs of fertilizer plug up my hand-held rotary spreader. I spread by hand throwing. :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simply doesnt work! I purchased this organic fertilizer and used as instructed on my lawn. It has been 3 weeks with frequent watering ( 3 times per week) and the lawn does not look any different, as it is not any greener. At this point, I will have to say that this product either takes a long time (months) to work or it doesn't work at all. I question the other reviews posted on here and wonder if their 5-star ratings are genuine. I have purchased Kellogg soil products and have been happy but this was a complete waste of $15. I suggest that home depot carry alternative organic lawn fertilizers which work better.
