Answer:
Yes, but you can't use the light bulb the store includes due to the base of the bulb not fitting the lamp with shade and shade bracket on. Need old style light bulb not the new type bulb.

Answer:
Brass look. It is not solid brass. This is my second lamp like this and this one is not solid brass. This is a polish brass finish. Can be plugged in or hard wired both.

Was looking for brass wall swing arm lamps and found the selection to be limited. The two I purchased will work but not excited about their quality. Compared to other brass accents in the room, look cheap. Easy to install, and they provide good light for bedside illumination. Hopefully they will last 30 years as the ones they replaced did.

Lamp was not as good of quality as expected but for the price it is okay. Light bulb included cannot fit on light because the base of the bulb is to big. The actual arm could be tighter but there is no way to tighten. Did not use the cord cover. Over all fair but have seen better.
