It feels sturdy, however, I am not a big fan of the finish which is just dark brown with the edges of it gone over with a lighter marker. I ordered 2 of these and one of the packages was missing the mounting screws. The fitting for the harp is a bit crooked which means the shade mounts at a slight angle. I've bent it a little bit to straighten it out. Once everything is mounted and it is in use it looks really good and those small issues aren't too noticeable. The install went without a hitch (other than for the missing screws - I just used some drywall screws instead). I currently have it running with 60 Watt bulbs and they haven't burnt out like the previous reviewer warned with higher wattage bulbs. The 60W bulbs give out plenty of light for me to read in bed on my kindle so it serves its purpose and overall I am happy with these light fixtures.

This is a lovely lamp, and it's easy to install. HOWEVER, it's rated for a three-way bulb up to 150 watts (A21 size), but the harp is too small to properly fit such a bulb, which causes overheating and very quick burn-out of the bulb (or, in my case, two of the three wattage settings of two different bulbs in 24 hours). And the way the harp is made, you can't buy a replacement for it. If you don't mind changing the bulbs frequently, then it's a nice lamp. Otherwise, look for a different one.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mom23boys Good replacement matching an existing fixture
Overall happy with the product and finished installation. However, the finish backplate doesn't fit very closely to the rough backplate - getting the VERY tiny screws installed to hold it together was difficult. Had to purchase longer screws to make it work.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mady Nice lamp but had design/installation hitches
I love swing arm lamps and ordered two of these to replace a couple of older ones. Install was not quite to plans because 1) design had changed but not instructions and 2) the harp (curved metal that holds shade around lamp) doesn't fit an american size three way light bulb that the lamp was supposedly designed for. I re-used my old harps for the lamps I bought.

The lamp is what I expected no more and no less. It met my expectations. The cord cover however needs a better design in that it is in two pieces that will not hold together without some type of assist ie tape or adhesive.
