Answer:
You can sit on it although I would recommend purchasing a cushion as the plastic gets very hot. They should also post a weight restriction on it.

Answer:
Yes, but ours has started to crack the supports under the lid when someone sets on it. Children and lighter adults can sit on it, but 200 plus pound people will break it down and crack the under side supports on the lid. Looking for ways to strengthen my lid now. Love the boxes, just wish the lid was stronger.

It arrives with the back, front, sides, bottom and seat all apart but it is not hard to put together. I did it by myself and it was under an hour; I just don't remember how long it took exactly. It's very sturdy.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 321 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bench Deck Box Easy to put together (did not have to read instructions-typical male). August 2, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by OK, but would not recommend to anyone Not easy to assemble at all (coming from an experienced do it your-selfer) It took two of us holding pieces together to try to get the fasteners to engage. The front top corner fasteners refuse to stay together and keep popping open which means the lid will not close completely. Have clicked them in place repeatedly and as soon as we let go, they pop out again. Will have to find another way to hold those corners together. Once we solve that issue, it will probably work fine. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Regrets in using Home Depot The bench was easy to assemble-took about 40-50 minutes. It is satisfactorily sturdy enough for our purposes: storage of pesticides and other materials outside of the church bldg to meet the Fire Code requirements for haz. materials storage-i.e. not inside the bldg. The ability to lock the storage "cabinet" met with rave reviews from our parishioner's-i.e. no, un-supervised, busy little hands opening and playing with the ant spray etc. The only downside: The bench seat is rather hard to sit on-at least for seniors. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by This thing is junk After receiving this item, I'm really shocked to see anyone giving it 3, 4, or 5 stars. It is a flimsy piece of junk. Pieces that are meant to snap on (like the feet) or snap together (like the sides to the back), do not seat properly and do not "snap", so the pieces don't stay on or together. Also, may of the pastic pieces had to be trimmed of the excess plastic from the molds. I also noticed that the left side was cracked. I contacted the mfg directly, as directed by the flyer in the box, and there was no answer to their support line so I had to leave a message. Bottom line, this thing would be a ripoff at half the price. Poor QA / QC from the mfg, and an overall poor design that is not well made nor sturdy. Trust the vocal minority here telling you that it is JUNK. May 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst plastic box ever!!!!!!!! The only redeemable quality of the product was the box it was shipped in. Two of the feet that were to snap into the bottom of the bench legs cracked when they were snapped into place, now they no longer stay in place. One of the plastic stays that snap into the top back to hold the bench top together broke when snapped into place. It took significant effort to get product to line up and snap together. The bottom of the box is corrugated plastic so you will be able to store very light weight items only. I would strongly advise against purchasing this product. It is a disposable product, I don't think it will last two years. August 9, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Look good outside my tack shed! It was fairly easy to assemble but I never got it just right...behind the back rest it keeps popping apart.. it's probably because it sits on uneven ground. I bought it to store grain sacks and for people to sit on in front of my tack shed at the stable. The old wooden box I had rotted and mice and insects invaded it. This plastic one should not rot like my last box. It works well and everyone loves the seat. And it looks good. May 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keter 70 Gallon Storage Bench We needed storage for patio and yard stuff. I found this bench on line and it looked like what we needed. Ordered it on line, picked it up at store, very convenient. Very easy to assemble, no tools required. It works very well, ample storage, provides seating for two adults a d it looks good on patio. I would highly recommend this product. August 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed We have a larger deck box by this company which we would highly recommend. We bought this based on our experience with the larger box. This one is a complete disappointment. It is flimsy and will not hold anywhere near the weight stated, but will hold 3 children weighing approximately 40 pounds each. I would not recommend for adults over about 125 pounds each, but the seat is fine for children. The bottom is not sturdy (the other box was), so all we are storing in it is the bench pad. Unfortunately, every time it rains the bench leaks, so the pad gets wet. Then you have to dry off the inside of the bench as well as the outside, along with setting the bench pad out to dry. I would not recommend this bench and would be hesitant to try this company again after this experience. August 9, 2016
