Does this model pull water into the warmer after making a cup so the brew time is quicker and water is hotter?

Asked by: JavaJig
Hello JavaJig! The machine will refill the internal water tank after each brew. As long as the machine is turned on, the internal water tank will stay heated to a temperature that will allow for less heating time and a quicker cup of coffee on subsequent brews. However, keep in mind that there will always be some amount of heating time needed for each cup.

Customer Reviews

K45 Elite Brewer is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 2062.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's Average I bought this machine for its simplicity. I don't much care for the brewers with more buttons than I know what to do with. After a year of owning this brewer, making one cup of coffee per day, it is having issues. It won't heat the water and the machine alerts to needing more water when it is full. I have to unplug the machine to reset it. I'm not sure how much longer it is going to last so I am in the market for a new brewer. Other than these two issues, the brewer does as it should. I don't mind the limited cup sizes as I only drink one small cup daily. It is noisy, but it's only noisy for 30 seconds, certainly not a deal breaker. It's a great machine, when it works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from K45 ISSUES In 4 days we've had 2 new K45s fail the same way. They both made a few cups of coffee then started recycling water to the holding tank during an entire brew cycle. Once complete there would be a loud puffing sound and the large cup brew light would stay on. Love the Coffee and the older machines. Quality has gone way down. I would not recommend a Keurig brand brewer until they get a handle on the quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love Our Keurig!!!!! My wife bought me a tassimo last december(2010) for christmas. and we exchanged 6 tassimos and took back the 7th and exchanged it for the keurig. and love it. Its not noisy at all and makes a cup of coffee quicker then the tassimo. and keurig has a lot more coffee and drinks to choose from. and with the tassimo you can only buy the t disks. but with keurig you can buy the my kcup and use your own coffee or tea!!!!! we have only had it 2 days but have friends who have had theirs for a year and 2 years. with no problems. the only thing we are doing is using filtered water. glad we made the switch!!!!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Potential Fire Hazard??? Had it for less than nine months and smoke started pouring out of it when it brewed my coffee. Something was really wrong with the wiring in it because I could definitely smell burning. Called customer service and they immediately said that they would send me a new one, no questions asked. Here's hoping the replacement works well, since the other one worked fine until some wiring went bad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sick of flaky reviews I'm so sick of flaky reviews from people who deter the next shopper from buying a product when it's evident they either didn't take the time to read the manual or are operating the product improperly. First let me say, all the "hard to clean" reviews are NOT TRUE. The water resevoir (on the left), the k-cup holder (up top) and the drip tray (at bottom) all detach in a matter of seconds for cleaning purposes. The only thing left is the outer shell. Except for being able to wash themselves, you can't get any EASIER than that. For those who state theirs stopped working, perhaps referring to the descaling portion of the manual will solve your problem. After attempting my first descale, I really thought my machine had stopped working as it would not run the water or vinegar through. I honestly thought (what a piece of junk) BUT.. It stopped working because once you start descaling, you must allow it to sit the 4 hrs as instructed to do it's job. THEN, turn the unit off (this refreshes the system, fill it with water, turn it back on and viola, it's back to normal. Even if it stopped working and you werent in the process of descaling, the manual suggest for preventive maintenance to descale every 3-6 months and possibly sooner. Had I read the instructions the first time around, I would have known that too and I'm finding others don't take the time to read either. If it's not working properly at least TRY the descale process TWICE as suggested in the (almost never read by most) manual and I'm sure you will find its more sturdier than you think. EXCELLENT product, DURABLE, EASY TO USE, VERY FAST, GREAT K-Cup Variety. Price for k-kups could be a little less expensive and I'm sure MORE people would jump on the band wagon too. I hope this review helps the next person. Be weary of negative reviews with ANY product and research for yourself and not just rely on comments from others. Many people comment based on "personal preferences which vary from person to person" versus the true quality of a product. I don't have any cons but my suggestion to the company would be to perhaps simplify the manual(even more)or offer a quick start, cheat sheet for those who may not have the time to read the manual, although it's pretty easy to understand already. A bonus would be to bring down the cost of the cups to be more enticing to keep the custormers you already have and lure those contemplating a purchase. Just remember, you can always purchase the unit and return if it does not meet your "personal standards". It's clear some people just like to complain and other's don't do well with change anyway so you can't please them any way no matter what you do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shoddy construction I've had several of these but they always break. Previously Keurig replaced the brewer when it failed, but this time, when I found the machine would not power on at all and called customer service, the best they could do was charge me a discounted price of about $100 for a new one. I'm switching to Nespresso. They seem to have better durability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Coffee Maker I've owned The Keurig K45 is easy to set-up and use, fast, and the K-Cups give my wife and I a choice of many different coffees. Only con; It only has a choice of three cup sizes. The hot chocolate and teas are grewat too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from wouldn't do without a Keurig My son bought me my Keurig Elite as a Christmas gift since he knew how much his mom loved her coffee, and how I loved it fresh and HOT! No sitting in a pot turning to mud for me. From the first cup I was in LOVE and now this will be our third Christmas together and it still makes the best coffee and I will tell you I have about 5 cups a day. If people visit much more is brewed. I have only had one problem with my Keurig and that wound up being my fault. The Keurig reps helped me find out what I did wrong and all was well. They were so helpful and gracious. The only thing that bugs me is when it is warming up or the reservoir is filling, it is very noisy. My family guests that were upstairs said the noise woke them up! Personally I can live with that since it doesn't last long, but I may try an newer version since mine is going on 3 years old, even though it works so well still. So as for some others reviews that said they only work well when they are new, I would say NOT in my case. Also it is important to keep it clean and turn it off if your not using it for long periods. If your getting short cups it may be because your using your own coffee, as I was for a time (I use both, but mostly I buy the K-cups, so easy, and I love to switch up flavors)and if you do that you have to make sure you do not fine grind the coffee which makes it plug up and in time will not work at all. All I can say is I can't wait till I can buy a new system....I have enough points already to get the discount, but this one still works so well. Maybe I will give this one to my son and buy me the Platinum!
