Answer:
Very easy, the bottom third just slides out to empty and just slides back in and machine comes back on, to the settings you made! You can empty when every you want because machine goes to stand-by mode when Bucket is full, waiting to be emptied!

What is this rating? The bucket should hold 50 pints, right?

Or I'm I looking at that rating wrong.

I had the same question. If the bucket capacity is 1.3 pints it is too small. The GE 50 pint model has a bucket capacity of 17.5 pints (about 6 gal). Maybe it is 1.3 gallons and not pints, but even then it is too small storage and you would be frequently emptying the bucket when humidity is high or in large rooms.

Answer:
Holds more than 1.3 pints (I dump at least 8 pints ever 12 hours in a room 18x24)! Everything is auto and if you don't manually dump you can install garden hose and machine will dump for you! Bucket holds a least one (1) gallon of water and I dump 2 times ever 24 hours. I live in the south.

Yes!, hose comes out back. My opening is about 2 inches from bottom. The instruction book shows the opening higher up? I really like my unit!

I got a 50 Pint for a large area and have it hooked up to a drain. It has pulled the basement down to 50% from 89 % over a month.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 63 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by died after 6 months This denumidfier worked great until its early demise after only 6 month's use. It took another 6 months of struggling, emailing and calling the company holding the warranty to make good on my refund. I would not recommend this product or its warranty. March 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works I had one of these in operation for just under a year when it developed a Freon leak. The unit was replaced (but guess who pays for shipping). If this one doesn't break down then I would rate this as a good value. February 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by not what we hoped for Dehumidifier keeps running; automatic shutoff not kicking in. Also, the filter light stays on. Might return to store. February 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good dehumidifier 50 pint big enough for my basement The dehumidifier works well. Only trouble the bucket is a little hard to get back in. Good value and got rebate from electric company. January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by works great! plug in and go! works great, not too loud either,. December 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 50-Pint Dehumidifier This dehumidifier was easy to set up right out of the box. You can program it but I did not change the settings. It works perfectly for my smaller sized basement. It no longer feels muggy and damp down there after a humid day or running the dryer. The reservoir is a bit smaller than I realized but I guess if it was any bigger, I would have trouble emptying it (you can attach a hose for continuous draining, which I plan to do). Overall, a great buy. I highly recommend this product. I've only had it two week so I cannot comment about its durability but I am quite pleased so far. I also purchased the extended warranty, just in case. August 26, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It is doing a good job! I have hooked it up to a drain and it has worked well. November 10, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Came in defective as water would only collect in bucket, not through continuous hose. Bucket filled nicely. I ordered this product on-line, the only way that it can be purchased. I followed the direction perfectly and even contacted Keystone to review the directions. One was supposed to either have a bucket in the unit collect the water or a hose attachment for continuous use. The hose attachment did not work. Keystone informed me that since I was under warranty , I had to rebox the unit and take it to a UPS Store to get a new unit as a replacement. I should have bought a unit in th!!e store September 8, 2015
