10 Year Lithium Battery Operated Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from After 4 months use, it gives spurious false smoke alarms This unit was priced right and we liked the claim of not having to remember to change batteries for 10 years. we wrote the install date on the unit so it was visible so we would remember to switch the unit out in 2023. However, it has started to give ever more frequent false smoke alarms (4 in the last 24 hours.) I would worry about a problem in our house if it were the CO alarm, but I know there is no source of smoke on a recurring basis, so the problem is with the unit. I guess I need to look for another brand and just bother with changing the battery twice a year. At this point we have to get rid of it because it has cried "wolf" so many times we no longer jump to find a problem in the house, but just try to shut off the annoying ear piercing alarm. Thumbs down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cannot recommend this unit We purchased this unit at Home Depot in August 2013. All seemed to be working well until last week when it started going off for no reason - trust me - there was no fire, smoke or carbon monoxide that would have triggered this. The hush button does not work well - it took many taps on the hush button to get the thing to stop. Since that day, we've experienced numerous false alarms. Reviewers on other websites all have the same comments - it works well for a few months, then starts in with the false alarms. The 10 year warranty and high price aren't worth it. The warranty says they'll repair or replace it. I don't want another one, particularly if it decides to follow the same pattern of issuing false alarms - I'd prefer my $50 back. Our confidence in Kidde has definitely been lowered.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 10 years? Not even one. These seemed like a good deal. They were easily installed, and I figured they would be worry free. They were until the false alarms started. During the last one the "Hush" button wouldn't work. I am positive it was for smoke, not co2, and there is no smoke. I opened my patio door and left it outside to see if it would stop and it didn't. I finally had to peel the label and turn the screw, which breaks it. I'm doing more research before I get another one because it will NOT be this brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from False Alarms Like the Others I cannot recommend this product due to false alarms. I thought this alarm would be a great value, but I've lost all trust in it since the smoke detector has gone off several times for no reason. I've owned the product less than a year and followed all directions for installation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stopped working after 4-6 weeks I bought six of these. After about a month, one started alarming for no reason and could not be reset. I took it down. About a week later another one started alarming for no reason. I was able to reset it with the center button but that only worked for about 15-20 minutes when it started up alarming again. I saw other similar reviews of this item, but was hoping I would get lucky. I didn't get lucky. Four out of 6 are still working, we'll see about those. Also, unless you are going to put these up on a simple sheetrock wall, the mounting hardware only allows you to use very small diameter screws. I wanted to mount to a brick wall and had to use some ingenuity to get it mounted. I would look at other products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 Year Lithium Battery Operated Combination Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Installation instructions were well written. It only took just a few minutes install.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Continuous false alarms. Will be returning all 5. Bought 5 of these to completely update our entire house to brand-new, sealed battery units. All of them installed well, and initially functioned as expected. However, within a few weeks, an individual alarm would randomly start sounding a smoke alarm. There was no smoke, and they were not located near areas with steam or cooking smoke/smells/vapor. I tried switching the detectors to one of the other locations within the house, but the location didn't matter. I have had three of them go off by themselves in various locations in the house. I will be taking these back to my local Home Depot. Unless I got a bunch from the same "bad batch", I don't believe that replacing them will help. (Especially after reading all of similarly poor reviews just on this site.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Break after 10 months Break after 10 months. Why bother 10 years battery and warranty. If you want to loose more money, go for the warranty repair/replacement with Kidde. "The obligation of Kidde under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing the alarm or any part which we find to be defective in material, workmanship or design, free of charge, upon receiving the alarm with proof of date of purchase, postage and return postage prepaid"
