Answer:
I just spoke to an electrician and he said to look at the manufacture date. If the year is 2010 or earlier it needs to be replaced. And Or if it chirps. I replaced the batteries twice since Saturday and it's still chirping. I hope this helps. Good luck

Answer:
It's not possible!!! The alarm sounds to advise you the battery is almost dead. When you replace the dead battery the alarm will go off to test the system, alarm and let you know that the battery is good.

Answer:
All Kidde co2 detectors mfd. 2007 and later have a working life of 7 years. Mine just died 04/15/16 (Err code). Looked on back and it was mfd. 05/2007. Looked up code error online and found the working life info. Putting new batteries in it does not work - it will still "chirp" every 30 seconds AND it will no longer detect co2. I cannot speak of other brands as mine is a Kidde.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 175 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely exceptional product and service! I ordered several Kidde smoke alarms and several of these carbon monoxide alarms, love them all! They look slick, are extremely easy to use, and are more compact than other products in this field. They are in use throughout several clinics and I have the utmost trust in them. I ordered them all online and had them in-hand in no time!!! Will definitely use The Home Depot online ordering system again! February 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty good value. These are the most economical CO sensors that we've ever used. Even the most expensive ones have the same expiration date to wear-out of the electrochemical gas sensing element that all of them use. Being battery operated is a mixed blessing. Yes, one must replace batteries from time to time, but that feature also allows one to mount the alarms anywhere regardless of where an AC power outlet is located, which is rarely at eye level or in hallways leading to bedrooms. We put ours in the hallway at eye level between two bedrooms and the other in basement near the furnace, water heater and gas clothes dryer about 2 months ago. No false alarms since. April 29, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cost effective and reliable I needed battery only CO detectors for a temporary application. I purchased 20 and each proved to be cost effective and reliable for my application. September 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product! Easy to install, works just like it should and great product for the money. August 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by simple design, easy to install i like the ease of install since there's just two screws and the mounting plate slides onto the unit. I installed the CO detector near the center of a cross-beam in my dining room, about 6 inches from my smoke detector. The day after install, I noticed my smoke detector hissing [not the alarm sound]. I pushed the test button on the smoke detector and it's been fine since. One design improvement would be to make the alarm sound not the same as a smoke detector sound. i know this one beeps differently, but still has exact same sound... hopefully the LED light indicator will help distinguish which is triggered! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Carbon monoxide monitor Love the small size, fits in between the bedrooms. Has a loud sound and is easy to install. Would purchase again if i needed another one. August 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by much recommended carbon monoxide dector/alarm recommended/required by the electric inspector and easy to install. July 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed Needed to replace the carbon monoxide alarm and as usual could find what I needed at Home Depot. Home Depot carries various named products what I like to see. July 26, 2016
