Product Overview

Kidde Hardwired 120-Volt Smoke Alarm is Inter connectable with other hardwired alarms. The Front battery pull tab allows battery activation without removing alarm from mounting bracket. Large mounting base makes mounting easier, protects surface paint from dirt and covers imperfections. Pre-stripped wiring harness with easy off cap does not require stripper tool. Tinned strands increase conductivity and wire nut grip. Battery run down protection will shut down alarm memory when AC power is not present, reducing low battery chirp. Dust cover protects sensor from contaminates during construction reducing nuisance alarms.

Does the new alarm come with an adaptor to use my old firex wiring or do I have to re-wire the new one?

Asked by: Joe
I am not familiar with firex but as far as homes built after 1993, rewiring is not needed for this smoke alarm.

I have four KIDDE i12060 smoke detectors.

Only one chirps and I've tried everything the book says to do to get it to stop but to no avail. Can I just replace the one that chirps or must I replace all four. Thanks in advance. Jack in Texas
Asked by: JackinTexas
I had the same problem and I replaced only the one that chirped. That did the trick.

We purchased two and after about 7 months they both failed by starting to go off at random times whether it was while we were at work or in the middle of the night startling us and forcing us to check our house top to bottom. We followed the instructions thoroughly in placement and cleaning to make sure we had no issues. Ive read plenty of other reviews that say the same thing. Both had to be permanently disabled and thrown away. I went to my local hardware store and got two regular detectors and haven't had an issue since.

Bought two of the Kiddie Model P3010L and within 6 months both had false alarms, one about 2 a.m. in the morning. Do not purchase this model as it is prone to many false alarms. Both are being replaced with a different alarm maker

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of junk. Don't buy this, it's junk. The employee told me it would not sound when cooking, but it does. Also the hush button doesn't work. Stay away from this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Multiple 10 year Kidde alarms multiple false alarms and complete product failure Have bought several from Home Depot. Returned almost all for breaking within the first year. Now trying to figure out how to get yet another one fixed after another failure. Would never buy Kidde again. Too unreliable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate replacing the batteries - not really as easy as sliding in front door The i2060 product installs pretty easily. I have had it for two battery changes - guessing that means 3 years or so, cannot remember exactly. I HATE HATE HATE when I have to replace the batteries. I got the front door option so I didn't have to pull the thing down. I have ceilings that are over 12 feet tall. But when I simply replace the battery it still beeps. Only when I turn off the breaker, pull the thing down, disconnect it and then put it all back together does it shut up. This stupid alarm drives me mad. I would replace the thing except I'm out of town right now and having to talk someone else through this nightmare.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy Just disabled our second one built in April 2015. The first went off when our son was 9 months old in his room causing me to freak out since he was asleep in, there for the night. No smoke,no fire,no alarm saying the battery was dying, and couldn't be shut off. These units were purchased and installed at the same time,I'm happy to see them gone
