CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 55 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy for the novice DIYer I have 6 older (12 years) smoke alarms from Firex (Kidde) and when 2 of them started to act up (chirping when the battery was good and no green light showing on one and one green light blinking) I called Kidde and was told this model would be an exact match. So I ordered them and less than a week later had them. I decided to replace the mounting brackets as the old ones were yellowed with age, and that was easy to do (just 2 screws involved). I would recommend wearing a headlamp with a swivel lens as it can be dark near the ceiling and plugging the new alarm in is much easier with good light. May 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good replacement for earlier model Even though this was a new product with a new item number, it fit well into the mounts and wiring for the earlier Kidde predecessor model. September 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hard wire smoke On line u get more for ur bucks n even pay less than if purchase in store December 9, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 smoke detector replacement After reading an article about the model I had in my house by a fire chief, stating how they failed, I decided time to change them out. So far all is good, and a little piece of mind goes a long way. January 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Replaced 16 Yr Old Hard Wired Smoke Detectors This is the latest version of this hard wired smoke detector. Installation involved removing the bracket and plugging the new detector in. Each took about five minutes, mostly time moving the ladder around. They are all installed and working. Kidde could make the directions much better -- too much information poorly presented. January 20, 2015
