Answer:
There is no expiration dste. You have to go by the gage, if it reads full it's ok. The only date on ours is the year it was manufactured and it is stamped on the bottom.

Answer:
Hello Jeb not Bush. No. This extinguisher has to be recharged and recertified every time it is used or every time the pin is pulled. It also has to be refilled every 6 years. A disposable extinguisher can only be used once and then it has to be replaced completely. We are Kidde Product Support at 1-800-880-6788. Thank you for your interest.

Hello. In reference to your question, Kidde Pro extinguishers come with the 30 day inspection tag. Inspection is required whenever an extinguisher is initially placed into service and regularly thereafter, at intervals that do not exceed 30 days. Inspection is often defined as a “Quick Check” that an extinguisher is readily available and in operating condition. Extinguisher inspection procedures can typically be accomplished visually by personnel having minimal equipment knowledge, but who are able to recognize any potential problems externally visible such as any obvious physical damage, missing tamper seals or out of tolerance pressure gauge readings. This can be done by the end-user and owner of the the extinguisher. This inspection tag has a place for the owner to document such visual inspections. For a business, a separate annual maintence and separate tag is require. This can be done by Fire Equipment Distributors in your area and found in your yellow pages under fire extinguishers, sales and services. Maintenance is required any time an inspection discrepancy is noted and at regular periodic intervals that do not exceed 1 year. Maintenance is defined as a “Thorough Examination” intended to give maximum assurance that an extinguisher will operate effectively and safely. Extinguisher maintenance examination procedures typically require some form of disassembly along with the use of tools and scales. Personnel performing maintenance must have received the necessary instruction to properly identify various hardware conditions, tolerances, service specifications and the code knowledge to ensure compliance with various regulations. Some jurisdictions require personnel performing extinguisher service and maintenance to be licensed or have certification of having received proper training. They will provide the tag needed. There will be a third tag eventually required for the 6 year and 12 year internal examination and hydrostatic testing. The 6-year internal examination requirements only apply to rechargeable stored pressure fire extinguishers having cylinders that have a 12-year periodic hydrostatic retest interval. The internal examination procedure is a maintenance function that involves emptying of subject extinguishers, so that a thorough internal examination can be performed. Internal examinations check the condition of the extinguishing agent, as well as the integrity of the cylinder and various other functioning components. When the applicable internal maintenance procedures are performed during recharge or hydrostatic testing, the next 6 year periodic requirement or window may begin from that date. Hydrostatic testing is the pressure testing of a vessel using a non-compressible medium such as water, to ensure its integrity and safety. Extinguishers are required to be hydrostatically re-tested anytime the integrity of the pressure vessel is questioned and at regular periodic intervals which range between 5 to 12 years. Hydrostatic test intervals are required to be conducted within the calendar year of the specified periodic interval. Hydrostatic testing requires specialized equipment and personnel training. Pro 340 3-A:40-B:C Fire Extinguisher is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stanard FE for our crews The one issue is the pins come out easily and they end up spraying all over the place when this happens.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good deal My rating is NOT related to actual use of the fire extinguisher! I have never needed to use it for it's intended purpose, thank goodness. But I learned that my recent purchase was an excellent deal when I went to get an identical one of these recharged. I decided to get the old one recharged and add a new one so I could have 2 in my home (one in garage, the other in the living area). It turned out that the new one was merely $10 more than getting the old one recharged. These extinguishers need to be recharged every 6 years or so, and the nice thing about this model is that it can be recharged unlike some of the less expensive ones.

During a whole house cleaning and discard of items not needed we examined the fire extinguisher. To our dismay it was long outdated and needed immediate replacement. As it turned out, Home Depot had the exact 5 pound replacement in stock. Installation was super easy as the hang bracket was identical to the old Kidde unit being discarded. Fortunately we have never discharged one of these units, so performance is still not examined.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fire Extinguisher Thank goodness I have not the need for this yet and I hope I never do. Living in a double wide modular home I have two other extinguishers of this size for better protection if needed. This extinguisher is quite a lot lighter than the other two so it would be a little easier to handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ever purchase ever!! This fire extinguisher was a great purchase, it is easy to mount on the wall. It also came with a larger sticker to put on the wall for anyone to easily see where it is located. Directions are pretty straight forward on how to use this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product Hopefully I will never need to use this product but if I do I feel it will preform perfectly. Easy to mount and includes the required "Fire Extinguisher" sign to post above the unit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great if. It's great if you have a massive fire on your hands but other than that a small one would do. If you can only used once buy it is rechargeable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk Had a fire in the backyard. Extinguisher did nothing. A garden hose was more effective. I didnt even get it refilled. I just threw it out.
