Rated 4 out of 5 by from Serious flame This is a serious cooker with or without the defuser. You need to "preburn" or break this unit in to burn off the paint. Regulator is easily adjusted from a low flame to "holy cow". The unit is loud, but then again, it is 105K BTUs. I had this unit shipped to me. Packaging could be better. It arrived in horrible shape, but all the parts where there and appeared undamaged. The only thing I would change is how the defuser swings in and out of place over the burner. Its awkward to get to with it sitting on the ground & you'll definitely need to wear gloves. I bought this unit for brewing beer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for home brew! I purchased this burner to replace my 38,000 btu propane burner as it was taking way too long to get 6.5 gallons of water up to temp. This thing howles! Got to boil in about 35 minutes, and that wasn't even at full throttle. My only problem was boil over, which put the burner out a few times; however, my pot was really full so it was my fault - nothing against the burner. Would definitely recommend to any home brewer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Burns HOT, and lots of gas. Chipped paint on heat shield with rust fresh out of the box. Smells like it was stored in an old shipping container. This burns HOT! I got this for stir fry--the empty wok started smoking after just 30 seconds on the flame. It is also loud (75dB). It is difficult to know what high and low are. Very inefficient-manual says will run 4-5 hours but I found I used 20% of the gas tank in 20 minutes. Suits my needs for $50.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of heat!! Bought this propane burner for homebrewing. I needed the highest BTUs possible, and didn't want a burner that took up half my garage. This King Kooker does just that-105,000 BTUs and the size is manageable. Features are limited, but who wants a complicated burner? Performance is great. I would recommend this to any homebrewer, or anyone who wants a large burner for cooking food.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and gets the job done I got this cooker for brewing beer and wow does it really deliver the heat. I have a 45000 btu burner and it doesn't even come close to this one. I brew ten gallon batches of beer with this and it has no problem bringing 12 gallons of water to a boil. I ended up buying a second one so I could brew two batches at a time. Would have given 5 stars if it was built a little stronger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from no flat bars, works great anyway The description stated cooker had flat bars to set the pot on. It does not have flat bars, they are round. This was the deciding factor for my ordering this burner. Very upset with faulty description. Works great anyway. Happy I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful enough to heat a 44 quart pot provided there is no wind. This product worked great once we realized the wind was not allowing the heat to bring the water to a boil. Once we put a wind breaker the product did the job. I will now fashion a windbreak that I can use when ever I do any kind of a "BOIL", crawfish, shrimp or lobster.
