Customer Reviews

Undermount Stainless Steel 32 in. 0-Hole Double Bowl Kitchen Sink in Satin is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sink is great except for the odor This sink had all the features I was looking for, plus was a heavier guage (16). The price was very low compared to other sinks in its class. It arrived promptly and in good condition. So now the problem...the bottom of it smelt like a bad chemical spill. I had read the reviews and they were mixed on this issue, so I took a chance. It was so obnoxious when I first opened the box I had to let it air out outside. I couldn't even store the packing documents in the house. I had some time before it was going to be installed, so I figured I could air it out and it would be fine...wrong. I tried that for a couple of weeks...still smells. I read a little more online and one suggestion was to apply heat. I used a space heater aimed directly at the bottom. That worked somewhat. It stunk up the garage, but did help drive off a lot of the gases, but not all. I was still afraid I was going to permmently install a smelly $240 sink under my new $4000 granite countertop and ruin the whole job. Finally, the weekend before the installation, I applied several coats of water-based varnish to the bottom pad. That did a pretty good job of sealing in the remaining oder. We've had the renovation done for about two weeks now. My wife loves the sink, but she could detect the oder after we left a it full of hot water one day. I'm pretty tuned into the smell and could pick it up only after opening the cabinet. So the botten line is this...if the sink stinks upon delivery, save yourself the aggrevation and return it. I would if I had to do over again.
