Customer Reviews

13-Cup Food Processor with Mini Bowl in Empire Red is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 519.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from So disappointed... I bought this food processor a few years ago to replace a cheap food processor (La Machine) that I had used for years. I hardly ever use this new food processor because, quite frankly, I hate it! Something simple like shredding carrots creates a lot of waste with much of the carrot not shredding but ending up in the bowl or stuck between the bowl and the bowl cover along the top. When using the mini-bowl to chop nuts, a lot of the nuts ended up on the rim which created a nice mess on the kitchen counter when removing the bowl cover. Hopefully they have come up with a better design, although I would be very hesitant to purchase a KitchenAid food processor ever again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from My New KFP1333ER stopped working the 6th time I used it. I bought this food processor to replace my 20 year old Kitchen Aid food processor with a larger one. I am sad to say that the unit that I purchased in December for holiday baking no longer works. It will not even grind up graham crackers. I had to fall back on my 20 year old unit. I have a kitchen full of KitchenAid and this is the first once to fail in less than 4 months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You are the best I love KitchenAid and would recommend all of your products to anyone. This is my second Food Processor, the first one lasted about 15 years, I passed it on to my daughter, who loves it. For anyone who has not visited your store in Greenville Ohio, I suggest you take the trip. It is well worth it. Your sales personnel are wonderful and very knowledgeable. I have a two wonderful mixers from Kitchen Aid. There again, they are about 15 years old too. Sometimes I wish they would break so I could buy another one. The new ones you have are so beautiful, however, my old ones are too. They may even out last me! I am a very satisfied customer. Cheryl

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hate it!! I have used this appliance a total of 3 times. After that, matter what I do it will not turn on; other people have verified that I have everything locked in place as it should be. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power and function in one good looking piece of equipment! I have had several of the top rated food processors over the years and this one out shines them all. I received this as Christmas gift after my old food processors bowl broke and I love it! I was hesitant to switch brands but after seeing Americas Test Kitchen review I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did!! I love the extra capacity and adjustable thickness for the slicer is so easy to use. Hands down the best kitchen aid product I've owned to date. It has all the power you need for those big jobs and more capacity than the other top rates food processors I've owned. I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Time Saver After shedding plenty of blood and skin on mandolins over the years, not to mention the extra time, this was a MUST HAVE!! There is a bit of a learning curve, but they include a really nice instruction manual and a quick reference guide, with a few uses its easy. We buy more fresh food this way and just freeze the excess. It works great for blending food for our 8 month old as well. I think my favorite part is how many more vegetables we use because now the prep time is cut in half. We probably grill and stir fry twice as much as we used to, and running onions through this is nearly tear free!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I brought this to make home made dog food I brought the 13 cup food processor to make home made dog food. Specifically for its volume and or capacity. Two pounds of carrots, two pounds of green beans and a whole chicken boil for two hours and let stand for another. Debone the chicken and drop it into the food processor for a creaming paste like texture, the same for the beans and carrots. Yum yum my dogs eats it up. Now for the processor, the whole processor time is approximately 10 minutes! That includes loading, processing and transferring the product. I am most impressed by the machine's ease of use, its power to weight ratio, its design and add on(s). What don't I like about the machine (I'm being nit picky); the lid does not easily twist on or off at times and the joint between the lid and the food chute seems over complicated with too many parts and crevasses. Granted, this issue only revealed itself when washing the machine if let stand before washing without soaking first and when using the machine to move between small and large production / processing (ie too many choices on the food piston which is used to force the food down the food feed). Over all, my complaint pale in comparison to the OUTSTANDING pride I take we I get to pull my Food Processor out in front of a crowd of hungry onlookers (family, fiends or my animals). I feel like Tim "the Toolman" Taylor from Home Improvement and that is meant to be a compliment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I got this as a Christmas present in 2012, and I have only used a few times but I know its potential and I am so glad that I have it. -- Pros: SPEED! So much faster/easier than hand chopping or shredding! -- SIZE! I am able to process a large amount at one time. -- VERSATILITY. I love all of the attachments it come with and the nice box that to store them all in. -- NOISE LEVEL. It is so quiet!! My mom was over and she couldn't believe it! She has a 35ish year old food processor of a different brand that is still working but so loud and probably won't last too much longer. She plans on getting the same one I have when it finally dies on her. DIRECTIONS. It is very easy to look up in the illustrated manual how to install attachments, which ones to use, and what speed to use.-- --Cons: CLEANING. It is easy to clean, i just hate cleaning and compared to just a knife and a cutting board, there are more pieces to clean. (the bowl, the lid withe the three removable pieces, the blade, the part that attaches the blade to the base, plus there is still the knife and the cutting board if you used it to chop off the ends of the vegetables.) However, in the long run i know it is still less time consuming than hand chopping.-- SMALL BOWL. I will admit that I only have used it once and it was for liquid (a yogurt and cream cheese mixture), but the yogurt splattered up and got the top of the large bowl dirty, which for me completely defeated the purpose of using the small bowl (less of a mess to clean.) I ended up having to clean both bowls! However, it may work better for non-liquids.-- SLICER/SHREDDER. It does a great job at both, but that last little chunk of vegetable at the end always just gets stuck at the top of the disc and never gets shredded or sliced. You either have to discard it or shred/slice is by hand.-- LID. The seal on the lid makes it hard to turn to lock it is. But it only has to be turned an inch or two and the seal is very good. I think I am going to try to lube it with some olive oil.-- --CONCLUSION-- It looks like I have more cons than pros! but it really is just nitpicking. Overall the pros way out the cons. It really does a great job very quickly. Just make sure that you clean it right away so you don't have to deal with dried up food stuck to it!
