Product Overview

KitchenAid’s KMT2115 2-Slice Toaster has chrome buttons that glow with blue back-light illumination when in use. The extra-wide slots will accept the thickest bagels, breads, or pastries and the extra-deep, steel toasting cavity ensures even browning. The racks automatically adjust the slot width for thick or thin slices, keeping food upright for even toasting. When your food is ready, the manual high lift lever makes it easy to get it out of the toaster. Selecting the bagel toasting function reduces the power on one side of the heating elements by 50% to produce a better toasted bagel. Plus, the adjustable 5-shade setting ensures your food will pop up just the way you like it.

Customer Reviews

2-Slice Toaster with Illuminated Buttons in Onyx Black is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 196.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the bagel feature I bought this toaster due to good reviews, and I have not been disappointed. English muffins come out crispy, but not overdone, and I love the way it toasts the inside of the bagel, but not the outside, on the bagel setting. I am very satisfied with both the performance and the look, and the wraparound storage for the cord on the bottom is great! Only thing missing is a warm button, to reheat without overtoasting, if you're not ready to eat it just at that minute. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Highly recommended but not perfect You may say it's just a toaster but if you use it frequently you will recognize and appreciate the quality and the thoughtful design. Looks great on the counter. I like the end of cycle tone to announce the toast is ready. I especially like the 3-wire cord for added safety. For slice after slice of the same kind of bread, the color control is very predictable. If the user changes from thin bread to thicker bread, the control must be changed to get the same color probably because the thicker bread is closer to the heat source. The bagel feature works very well although the color control needs to be increased to a higher number. The primary reason for downgrading from 5 to 4-star rating is that the toasting is slower than I would like. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great, works adequately I like Kitchen Aid products; they are well made and look nice. This toaster replaced a 15-year-old Kitchen Aid toaster. It looks great (very retro). Toasts well. But the setting is odd. Out of 5 levels, using setting number 3 will result in very, very browned toast. Normal is 2. I don't know when you'd ever use setting 4 or 5. Otherwise, works well. I hope it will last as long as the one it replaced. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Toaster with a Tweak I bought this model for it's attractive look and the length of the toaster slots. Many of the toasters don't have room to accommodate a normal sized piece of bread. I exchanged it under the warranty for intermittent operation goofs because it burned a piece of brioche bread on the lowest setting. The replacement had a tendency to do uneven toasting, but I discovered that separating the heating wires a little more from the backing made them burn better. Quality control for the wiring could be improved but several toasters I've tried seem to have the same issue. For the price, it should perform a little better than it does. Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a luxury! My previous toaster was 35 years old and worked fine, but I received this KitchenAid as a Christmas gift. It has slots that are deep enough to handle oversize bread slices without toasting twice, and slots that are wide enough to handle bagels. The guide mechanism centers the slice between the heaters so that each side gets toasted evenly, and withdraws to allow the slice to be ejected without drama. The bagel setting gives a perfect bagel, and the adjustment is precise and very repeatable. This toaster is a luxury appliance! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! I bought this recently to replace an old appliance that was barely functioning and would only toast one side. I am have been so pleased with this purchase because now I can make toast quickly in the morning and my whole routine is much faster! It also just looks great on the counter; it's so sleek and modern looking! I am very pleased with my purchase - I bought it partially because of the kitchen aid brand, I knew it would be a quality appliance and I am very happy that I bought it! Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unhappy!!! I purchased this toaster approx 2 months ago and very disappointed in it's performance. It just takes so long to toast. I enjoy a bagel or waffle for breakfast and press the bagel button and don't see any difference pressing or not pressing that button. The lift is much less then the previous toaster that I had. At times I had to flip the toaster over to remove item item toasted. My husband told me to start looking for another toaster, he is so unsatisfied over that toaster as well. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed This is better than the last toaster I bought (which is why I chose, Yes I would recommend.) that was another brand, but it's still disappointing as the toast is uneven. It does OK with frozen waffles (gluten free) because I can toast them part way and then rotate them and toast them more. Gluten free bread needs to be toasted and yet it is difficult to toast as it is usually purchased frozen and often is rather "squished" in shape. I am not surprised that the toast is uneven, since I can see that the coils heat unevenly.
