The competition is fierce for this latest must-have class of product. Immersion blenders attempt to give you the best of two worlds in a handheld package, and KitchenAid - to be expected - delivers a thoughtful product at a fair price. Their offering gives the impression of solid construction, good weight (too heavy for some people but it gives you a confident feel), easy cleaning, good safety features, and good looks - even if it does live in a drawer much of the time. They essentially put a Blender's blade construction in a convenient stick form, but sharpened the blades (be careful!!) to mimic a food processor. It cannot match either appliance but does the job for small batches or difficult locations. Despite photos, the stove is not the place to use this - the electric cord can catch on pan handles or touch hot burner plates. A counter near the stove is ideal; keep a heat proof tile handy to place hot pans on. KitchenAid makes a heavier model also, but at that point you probably should be using a counter appliance. Usage hint: If the blade stick seems to wobble in use you do not have it "locked" on; twist harder when attaching. Storage hint: The pretty orange 2-inch cap from larger Tropicana jugs exactly fits the end of the blade holder, safely covering the sharp blades when in a drawer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shack Great tool.
I wish I had thought of purchasing it long ago. I have used the hand blender several times in hot blending situations( i.e. butternut squash soup, mashed cauliflower, fruit smoothies). Takes the worry out out of blending hot foods. Again I think this another quality KitchenAid tool. The only problem I had was attaching the shaft to the motor. Direction could be clearer. Once I solved the problem of lining everything up it was clear sailing. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I LOOOOOve my new immersion blender that I purchased from KaTom Restaurant Supply!! I was skeptical at first, since I have never tried an immersion blender and have only used stand mixers in the past, but it works better than I ever expected! I knew that this was a keeper after the first time I made my homemade, no-bake cheesecake, and the batter came out smoother than ever before! If you aren't sure whether you should purchase this product or not, I say DO IT! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've been wanting an immersion blender for awhile and finally decided to treat myself. I bought this Kitchen Aid immersion blender and absolutely love it. It's easy to use, easy to clean, is well made and works magnificently. I used it to purée soup and it made the whole task so simple and easy. I highly recommend this product! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dawn Wonderful upgrade to my existing Hand Blender
I bought this in addition to a new Mixer and Food Processor that are both 20 years old and never had issues or problems. This is amazing to use, large enough for my needs, and a welcome addition to my Kitchenaid family of appliances. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
