3-Speed Immersion Blender in Onyx Black is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 357.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from If it's not broke... I had the original KitchenAid Hand Blender and after so many years (more than I can even remember) it finally quit on me. I just replaced it with the latest available model and am upset that the design to the blade attachment changed. The original mechanically locked in place and required one to squeeze the grip to release the clips. This latest model just is a slip and turn but does not lock. So when I went to use it to simply puree squash for my soup it kept detaching. I had to keep one hand at the blade/handle joint to keep it from shifting or slipping off and the other on the power pad. It is the cheapest, dumbest re-design for the type of equipment. KitchenAid, I am so disappointed. I was going to invest in your mixer but am afraid you have taken short cuts with that as well. Another example of American ingenuity going to garbage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seriously flawed chopper I purchased your 3-Speed Hand Blender for its immersion blender function and, very importantly, for the chopper attachment to replace my food processor's basic function. I am deeply disappointed in the chopper. I went to make a Thai marinade and instantly saw a problem: the blade is too high off the bottom of the bowl. To make matters worse, the blade's stem has a spring in it, thus ensuring that if the blade is in danger of actually contacting a small object, it can instead skim right over it! The solid ingredients were small: coriander seed, peppercorns, and a very large clove of garlic in a small amount of oil, fish sauce, and soy sauce. The garlic clove was cut into about three pieces; then everything just lay there while the blade spun. I tipped the bowl on edge, holding the wand firmly in place, and by tipping and rocking it, I succeeded in chopping the garlic although not nearly as small as it should have been. The peppercorns were intact as, of course, were the coriander seeds. Then there is the matter of the chopper's lid. The tipping, etc, meant garlicky oil had sloshed all over the interior surface. The bowl and lid (on its side) went into the dishwasher (top rack, no heated drying). It was when I unloaded them that I discovered that there was water trapped inside the lid. Shaking it and pounding it into my hand yielded less than 1/2 teaspoon of water, and there was still water inside. There still is, some five days later. Last night I tried to chop ~1/2 cup of peanuts. As the manual suggests I pulsed the nuts. I ended up with a lot of peanut dust, middling-sized pieces and almost whole peanuts. (I have before and after photos). AND ... the lid dripped water when inverted and sounds as if there is more water now although it has not been near water again. I'm not sure that the fine performance of the blender outweighs the shortcomings of the chopper-and-lid. I'm not sure I can make cheesecake in a graham cracker dust crust. What will happen to hard cheese?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great except... I used to have a Kitchenaid hand blender and a small food processor. Always loved them, worked really great and I purchased them in separate. Before I moved to another country, I sold them and found this new set that combines both in one product. Being Kitchenaid, I completely trusted the brand and selected it even though it costs twice as much the similar other manufacturer. It´s been less than a week that I received it and, although the products works great, there is one HUGE problem: the mini processor lid accumulates water inside and there is absolutely no way to get it out. This is very unsanitary and I am sure soon it will start smelling bad and drip on food. I am willing to return this produdct immediately.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed I am one who usually does not bother to leave a review online but this product really gave me a fit that I just have to do it. I bought this handheld blender because I read so many positive reviews but I was so disappointed. The whisk attachment comes apart easily from the handheld when I tried to whip some egg white and I know I turn and lock it well so it has nothing to do with improper usage. This is not what I would expect from KitchenAid products. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Hand Blender I purchased this hand blender a couple of months ago to replace one (another brand) that broke after years of use. I don't use it a lot, but it's come in very handy to get the lumps out of cake batter. You just stick in the appliance and it whirs away the lumps! The accouterments have come in handy, too. The cup has been useful for shakes (I use the cup and appliance for my protein powder drinks). I hope this lasts for years to come. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from think again Most things in the US are "righty tighty, lefty loosey" but the attachments to this device tighten in reverse of that. Why? Most motors can have their direction of turn reversed by swapping the electrical leads so if theses attachments tighten to the left because of the native direction of the motor, there's not that much circuitry involved to reverse motor spin direction. So think again! The speed numbers are printed in a black Helvetica font on a shiny gray background more or less on top of the dial. When I stand with the blender in one hand and the bowl in the other, the top of the blender is at or above my eye level. I need to lower and tilt it to confirm the selected speed. There is LOTS of room on that top cap: what about printing the numbers to extend down around the sides, about 4x larger, and in a color of high contrast to the background. Baby boomers are turning to age 60 at more than 10,000 each day in the U.S. Think about it! So yes it blends it slices and it dices but so do a number of other brands.
