Product Overview

This 3-speed, 30 in., KitchenAid vent hood has power to effectively vent an output of up to 65000-BTUs. The powerful motor handles your most aromatic ingredients with a Whisper Quiet System that operates at levels that allow you to carry on a conversation: just 49 dBA (1.5 sones) at Low Speed, is 65 dBA (5.4 sones) at Maximum Speed. Plus Auto Sense allows the range hood fan to turn on automatically when it senses heat higher than its allowable temperature limit. When Auto Sense is On, the fan speed will increase or decrease based on the temperature Auto Sense is measuring.

  • Perimeter ventilation increases ventilation system efficiency by pulling air from the edges of the hood and speeding up the movement of air at the center, allowing it to efficiently handle up to a 65000-BTU total output
  • Electronic Touch Control with Boost Function (10 Min.). Enhances performance by providing a timed, short burst of high-speed ventilation to effectively filter steam, grease, and odors from the air
  • 3-speed settings so you can match the ventilation to the need
  • 600 CFM quickly clears the air
  • Easy In-line Conversion. Converts from a traditional set-up to an in-line blower installation for an even more quiet operation with separately purchased In-Line Smart Kit, manufactured by Whirlpool, Part Number W10692945
  • Dishwasher safe grease filters reduces steam, grease, and odor to help avoid contact with ceilings and countertops
  • LED task lights provide extra lighting over the cooking surface to help in the cooking process. Halogen night light provides soft, accent lighting in the kitchen
  • The range hood is factory set for venting through the roof. For non-vented (recirculating) installation order Recirculation Kit Part Number W10692908
  • Recommended for use with cooktops with a maximum total rating of 65000-BTUs or less

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Installation problems. Terrible instructions. Problem 1: comes with a ridiculously flimsy, thin metal upper bracket. I mean, c'mon, for the price of this hood, we should get a thicker bracket. It was not only bent in an S shape out of the box, but unless you use screws at the extreme widest holes, the bracket does not stay firmly against the back wall. I had to go with the inner most screws due to wiring behind my wall studs, and now the hood leans forward slightly, due to bending of these thin brackets. Problem 2: Instructions and diagrams are awful. No diagrams of which parts/screws you need at what time, and it tells you nothing about how you better peel off most or all of the stainless steel protective coating before you install it, or you can't get the back pieces off once it's on the wall. In fact, the diagram shows it being pulled off while assembled. Do not wait until it's up. I peeled most off ahead of time, and still missed where it folds behind the back of the unit. I hope the tiny pieces left back there won't burn. Problem 3: The 4 screws provided to mount the chimney hood are too tight to screw into the bracket up top, and the unit interior down below. I had to use my own screws I had on hand. Problem 4: The diagram shows mounting the two underneath screws that hold the bottom of the chimney to the unit, as a straight line in under the grease traps. However, when you open up under there, both screws mount directly above brackets. There is no way to use a screwdriver in there, even a short stubby one. We had to use a drill bit just to have room to get te screw in. I would not recommend this unit based on all the installation issues I encountered. Sad, because the unit runs perfect and is very quiet, but we now have to deal with it slightly resting below our ceiling, because the back chimney brackets are cheap and bending forward. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Quiet! This is a very quiet and powerful fan. It works well. I really like the three lights with different settings. It looks very nice too. April 10, 2015
