After my contractor told me I needed to purchase a built in BBQ grill for my patio, I began an extensive online search for the best grill for my small needs (he had suggested I buy one that was $1,500). I came across this one in a blog comparison and was very happy to see that is was fully welded heavy gauge stainless steel with decent reviews.
It looks beautiful in my new BBQ island. So many people, immediately upon seeing it, assumed I had paid over a $1,000 for it! All the men had to open it up, feel the weight of the lid, check out the interior and the burners. Their ideas about the higher the cost = better were crushed especially my contractor! This BBQ is perfect for me and the use it will get with just a few parties every year, as well as the small amount I will cook for dinner a few times a month. We have used it twice now, with delicious outcomes. No issues with uneven temperature, being hard to start or convenience of use.

The first time I purchased this unit, it came with a large dent on the cover. I had a good experience on the phone however I was told I had to bring it to my local H D to get credit and then I would have to call them back to re-order... They did give me a small discount for the inconvenience. Got the second one last week and 2 of the 3 grates had missing bars. Looked like bad welds. I haven't had a chance to contact H D as I am very busy and I had to use the grill for a Large Party the next day. Might be smarter to just go to H D in the future.

we had the Costco patio kitchen for 7years, the grill that comes with the kitchen got broken and parts were not found to repair. We installed this new grill in that kitchen and worked very good. A little work to adapt for the space we had, but totally worth it. This one is easier to clean as well.

Purchased this grill to replace a jenn-air because the company (Nex grill) that manufactured jenn-air no longer did and replaced it with the kitchen aid that was set up for propane. We order the natural gas, however, the company said with a few steps I would be able to covert to natural gas (not so much) I still don't have a an even flame. Very disappointed. And by the way I had to call nex grill for instructions because the manual was not very clear.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MS A Not Bad Grill, But Lousy Customer Service
The KitchenAid grill runs hot enough, but the conversion from LP to natural gas takes quite a while and the instructions are not perfectly clear. It is nice that all the conversion parts are included. The grill arrived with a HUGE dent in the cover which I banged out after disassembling the top. It came out pretty good, but it's not perfect -- not for an $800 grill. When they called to see how I liked the grill and heard that it came with the dent they refused to take care of it after they heard that I banged it out. So, I should have left it alone. The annoying thing is that they just stopped calling instead of closing the case honestly. Bad Home Depot. Bad KitchenAid. I was not a rude or difficult customer.

One month after purchasing this grill the thermometer stopped working. The stainless steel color is now brown after 6 months. Kitchen aid will not honor the warranty. They used the manufacture date as the warranty start date.

This grill is about what you pay for...the grill is 1/2 the cost of other 32" built-in grills and cheapest one on the market. Our last was a clone of this unit by JennAir, and when you research neither Kitchen-Aid or Jenn-Air companies support or claim to make outdoor grills - someone is buying the naming rights to sell at Home Depot as a brand name - kinda shameful really. It was shipped quick but arrived with light damage that was hard to see. It required several sheet metal screws to be drilled and set where at least four spot welds failed during shipment on the bottom pan. The grill discolored on the first use on the backside - unfortunate for us in that is where the pool is located. All that being said, if it lasts 5 years at $700.00 that's a better return than a $ 3-4K grill every 10 years. I'll live with it, but don't expect much.

Had this installed a couple of days ago and cooked our first meal on it tonight. The pork tenderloin the wife cooked came out perfect and I attribute part of this to the 4 burner arrangement that gives an even heat distribution.
The all stainless construction is very well engineered and the price is unbeatable. I am extremely happy and would highly recommend anyone looking for a 30" drop-in take a real close look at this one. I think you'll come to the same conclusion as me...great quality, great design, great price.
The only drawback was that it had to be ordered and that took more time than if it would have been available in store.
