Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MamaP Wonderful gift from my sister but...
My sister got this for me as a Christmas/housewarming gift because we used our little 2 slice toaster to death almost with the amount of frozen waffles and toast we consume in a week in our house. Anyway, when I started to use this toaster I noticed that there was no indicator on the knobs themselves so I would not know how toasted I would be getting something. I ended up having to make a guess and draw indicators on there with permanent marker. I would recommend to KitchenAid that they put an indicator line or something on the knobs to help people out.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Allen Lift levers break
We have the previous model of this toaster (KMT422) and the handles on the levers broke off (as others have experienced). We ordered new handles and they broke off as well. Now Kitchen Aid is sending another set of handles and the service person claims that this is the first time she has heard of this. I doubt they will work any better since there is such small contact area between the handles and the levers. Certainly need a new design.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sometimes an early riser Faulty lever, but great warranty service
I chose the manually operated lever control over the push-button version of this toaster because I thought there would be fewer problems than many computer-controlled appliances. Wrong. On the maiden toast voyage one of the levers immediately broke. It would not rise, just bottomed out and stayed there. I have owned and loved earlier model of this same toaster. Kitchenaid made exchanging the manual lever version for the slightly more expensive push-button unit easy, and it arrived yesterday. It's a great toaster. I would not recommend the lever version, but I would speak highly of the push-button unit and Kitchenaid in general.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Lois Faulty lever design
We've had good experience with our Kitchen Aid Refrigerator, Oven, Dishwasher and Mixer, and anticipated the same with the toaster. While it looks nice, and makes great toast, the levers broke, and it is almost impossible to use. Noticed others have had the same disappointing experience. This needs to be redesigned!

I love this toaster except the fact the lever broke shortly after purchasing. I have four children and blamed them for being too rough with the lever, but after reading multiple reviews it seems to be a design flaw.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Fisch05 Very Slow & Toasts Unevenly
Overall, we are very disappointed with this product. We actually replaced our first KitchenAid Toaster, thinking the slowness was a defect. Our replacement toaster is just as slow. Not only is the toaster slow, but it toast very unevenly. One side of the bread will be toasted, but the other side, not at all. I am not usually one to complain, or write an review, but we are very unhappy with this toaster. It looks great, we just wish it worked better!!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by PC 4-Slice Toaster with Manual High-Lift Lever and Digital Disp
Well this is my second 4-Slice Toaster with Manual High-Lift Lever and Digital Display by KitchenAid. This first one only toasted one side of the bread so you had to flip it and toast again. Just got my second one so we'll see how it works after a month or so...I have the red KitchenAid mixer and it's the best!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by karen great features
love all the extras on the toaster. ie, bagels can fit and regular bread. It has a bagel button, a toaster shade option from 1-7, a reheat and defrost option
