5 Qt. Glass Bowl for KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixers is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beware of the glass bowl I love love love the 5qt mixer i purchased but it came with the glass bowl which looks very nice and is handy for seeing your ingredients but the 3rd time it was used the very bottom where the bowl locks in cracked with tiny shards of glass getting in my finger. I have wanted one of these mixers my whole life and after spurging on the purchase i am disappointed in the glass quality and wish mine had come with the metal bowl. Now im stuck with a 300 counter decoration or spending 60-70 to buy a new bowl or using it without it being locked in place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Be Careful! Cracks Easily! I registered for this for my wedding. Could not imagine a kitchen without a mixer and I liked how you could see the ingredients in the bowl. I hand wash this bowl every time I use it. I was hand washing it earlier today after baking a cake. I heard a pop and the bowl had a huge crack it it. I love the look and utility of the bowl, but I will probably be sticking to metal from now on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly Happy with mine I have had my mixer about 6 months. I now average a cake a week (everyone loves lemon pound cakes). I find the bowl heavy but then again I'm 80. Donna the Dough Girl's review caught my eye. I have the opposite problem. My bowl locks with the handle close to the mixer but has not cracked. Probably because I have to be careful not to mash my fingers. The other thing is, I am left handed! That coupled with the fact that it's heavy causes me to be more careful not to drop it makes me exercise caution. Seating it requires a second effort sometimes. Otherwise I am happy with the bowl. The only other thing is my switch doesn't move easily from setting to setting.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wonderful Bowl But With a Fatal Flaw I have had my glass bowl for a couple years and I love it. It's great for all kind of mixing tasks but especially for cakes and breads. Because it's clear it is easy to see to make sure that everything is mixed in; no flour or liquid lying unmixed in the bottom. It is also great for measuring bread rise because you can clearly see when the dough has doubled, with or without the measurement marks on the side. BUT it is so easy to break the bowl just securing it into the mixer stand base. The optimism way to secure it brings the spout in such close contact with the back of the stand that the slightest touch can chip or crack the spout. (See pix) I'm so sorry that mine has chipped and cracked just from regular use. I wish this had a better design.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Make America great again I just bought this 5 quart glass mixer bowl with measuring marks and lid. Wow, what a disappointment! Does "Made in Mexico" mean anything to you? Let me describe as gently as I can, maybe my anger might crack this inferior blown glass. It's no imitation - the lid and glass are both stamped "KitchenAid". Living here 19 miles from the border of Mexico, I avoid buying their glass. It is not tempered properly, and usually full of bubbles (holes), and has been known to break by the temperature changes alone! Lo and behold, there are more than twenty bubbles in this glass bowl! I am surprised to be duped by a "reputable" company unwilling to pay fair wages and resorts to outsourcing. Listen, if you were dumped on in this past financial meltdown, it was because of companies like this. So if you lost your job and can't get better than minimum wage - stay away from KitchenAid until they turn around. This item gets two stars: one star for it actually being a glass bowl, and another for not cracking on the first wash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I receive this as a gift and I absolutely love it. I love that it comes with a lid so dust isn't collecting in the bowl. Having the pouring lip definitely eliminates spills as well. I know a lot of people said they're both has cracked, my advice is to keep your box and your receipt and call customer service if you're bowl cracks. My ice cream attachment actually broke and KitchenAid sent me a brand new one and I didn't even have the receipt. So I give them 5 stars for their customer service as well.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bowl Cracked First Time Used! Very disappointed!! I purchased the KitchenAid Deluxe Edition Stand Mixer a while ago and didn't have space on my counter so I had not unpacked it. My son and I were getting ready to make Christmas cookies and he asked me if I had a KitchenAid mixer. We got it out of the box, set it up and mixed up the batter. Removed the bowl, washed it and put it back on and it cracked!!! I was totally shocked! With the cost of these mixers, I would expect better quality. I'm extremely disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it I love my glass bowl. I have seen the reviews about the chipping problems but, I have not had any chipping problems. The only problem I have is difficulty in snapping it into place. It takes a bit of maneuvering unlike the stainless steel bowl which snaps right in, otherwise I love the size and find no problems with it.
