Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the price. I bought this to replace a previous built-in KitchenAid microwave that lasted 13 years. Within the first week, the turntable exploded. KitchenAid sent a replacement, but it took over a month to receive it. Because it was cooking so slow, I called KitchenAid to complain. Over the next 10 months they sent out various repair people who slowly replaced several parts, but it is still much slower than my old one and the fan is still noisy and rattlely. Even a $99 dollar countertop microwave I borrowed from my office to use during the "down times" while waiting for parts, was much faster and quieter. After all the repairs, microwave popcorn which used to cook in 1 minute in the old one, takes 4 and 1/2 minutes with this one. And if you use the popcorn button, it will shut off before a single kernel has popped. Pros: Looks nice. Cons: Slow, Noisy, Expensive, Downward opening door. October 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Promises, promises. But not everything is true! This unit microwaves just fine. But the overall 'feel' of the unit itself tells me it is not of high quality. I have no problems with the door (as others seem to have), nor with the cooking features. My issue is with the 'trim kit' that came with the unit. I replaced a 13-year old Kitchenaid microwave operating with 240v. This unit was supposed to replace it as a near equal in terms of size and service. Well, this unit operates on 120v. and that is fine. But the trim kit provided with the unit only covers horizontal trim, not vertical. So now I have a gap showing of and inch or so above the microwave with no trim piece to cover it! Not only that, Kitchenaid doesn't offer such a piece.....apparently they think their old units will never be replaced so no trim kit is needed! Anyway, between this and the issues associated with the new Kitchenaid dishwasher I purchased at the same time, I am done with Kitchenaid when it comes to future appliance purchases! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love...Love...Love it! Both my daughter and I purchased the same kitchenaid appliances as we were both remodeling at the same time. Seems so much quicker than last microwave. April 10, 2015
